I will be travelling during Ramadam on Emirates, as I will be with my 13 year old just wanted to check if meals would be served, as we are nonmuslim. Just so I can be prepared. Thank you and sorry if my question is naive.

Yes jagermeister is available in Dubai , but if your carrying it in your suitcase and are a resident without an alcohol license beware !

You can bring the normal limit of alcohol in, Ramadan or not. Just dont go slugging it in public, Ramadan or not. And you should have an alcohol licence, although many do not.

Travellers are not required to fast but many choose to do so because they have to make up the days of non-fasting sometime later (as do menstruating women). It's easier to fast "as a group" rather than to do it on your own later on - or a least I would find the former easier.

Last year I learned that "travellers" are not expected to fast during Ramadan apparently, but many choose to still.

Apparently DXB airport is classed as airside so all bars/food outlets are open :-)

I had my first business trip to Europe from Dubai during Ramadan many years ago. I was traveling with my boss and he got upgraded so I ended up sitting between two fasting gentlemen in economy… Stewardess served them water and dates to break the fast and GTs for me… it was a bit strange situation but I enjoyed my drinks and food and they their fast! I agree that not the best behavior from me but they were not able to give me either aisle or window seat so that what happened! If I remember correctly, airport lounges are not servicing alcohol during day.

Irish Bar was still selling booze last time I flew Qatar, arohadxb, and that was at [gulp'> 11am. I know that I was surprised at how 'open' the DXB airport was when I last flew during Ramadan; all the cafes, and bars and what-have-you, were 'business as usual' -- I suspect because of the international clientele. Made for quite the shock after experiencing Dubai locked in Ramadan mode. ;) Strangely enough, the airport lounges are less 'open' than the bars/cafes/restaurants open to the public. Seriously though: head to the Irish Bar and pretend you're back in 1999, able to smoke [i'>inside[/i'>, drink at will ... it's a nice little ten minutes before you grab your flight. :D oh thank goodness...been having a panic and dreaming up ways to sneak my voddy through :D

We were on a flight once and for life of me can't remember if was Qatar or Emirates but they actually announced for the fasting people when (according to the time zone we were in) when the sun had set so they could break their fast. Thought that was pretty cool. Now, will i be able to get a drink at the airport monday night pre flight? Can't get on a plane with out rescue remedy and vodka. TIA Let's hope it's not the same routing as before :) Got smart this year and sent HIM with lil miss :D I'm just doing HK and Thailand this time, lol!

Yes, definitely. You'll even get alcohol if you so desire. :)
