Medical fitness process for maid

I tried to post this a few days ago but didn't see it come up on the forum.

Can anyone who has been through it recently tell me what the procedure is for medical fitness test for maids? On the DHA website, it mentions e-health, getting a health card, making an appointment...etc.(See - http://www.dha.gov.ae/en/servicecatalogue/eservices/medicalfitness/Pages...) Does all this apply to a maid? I thought I just walk-in to the Satwa medical center with the maid and pay the fees and pick up the results when they are ready later, but now I just don't know. Is there a form that needs to be filled by a typing center? Can I get that form ahead or do I have to pick it up at the clinic?

As Lucy111 mentions, it opens at 7.30 but you have to be there (or rather your maid, if it's for her) way before that. I dropped our maid there at 7.05 this morning and there was already about 15 people in front of her. they take a maximum of 35 every morning. the day before we had arrived at 8.15 and it was full.

I thought this information might be useful... Took our maid this morning for a medical test in Badaa clinic (supposed to be the place for housemaids for surrounding areas). They are only open from 07:30 to 08:30 AM Sun to Thurs for medical tests. There is a limit of 35 maids every day and many have to queue from 6:30 in the morning! Obviously I didn't get a slot... doh! Mankhool clinic (Bur Dubai, near Immigration, behind Union co-op/ between the co-op and Mankhool road) also does medical tests in the mornings until 11:00 AM. The clinic is in the middle of residential area - not so easy to find but its much quicker and quieter than Badaa clinic. We went there and the whole thing finished in less than 1 hour. They take blood and urine sample, also x-ray for first timers. Results can be picked up in several days depends if you pay for express or normal. To save time, register and pay online (AED 310) on http://eservice.dohms.gov.ae/pservices/CreatePID0.aspx otherwise you need to go to a typing office just to get a simple application form filled... PS: be ready with photocopies of passport and visa, Mankhool clinic will not let you use their photocopier!

They now do a pregnancy test a part of the medical so I doubt that there will be a big time gap. Why not just get it done a week before you plan to renew. You don't have o go with her. I always pay for urgent and it's done and dusted and it means i can get the whole process done in 2days.

Once you do the medical, are the results valid for a certain period? I need to complete the maid process by end of February but will probably do the medical this month but need to ensure the results are still valid. Do they charge more to courier the results? Or if you do the urgent processing do you get them the same day at the medical centre?

We dropped our maid at the centre in Satwa (get there early as it can get very busy) and she followed a simple procedure but had to get a form typed at the typing centre (which is directly opposite) then they courier the results out about a week later to your home. Its very simple...
