There seems to have been a problem over the past few weeks with receiving text messages from the O2 network in the UAE. They receive texts sent from here without a problee but new messages or replies are not getting through. Other UK networks seem fine.

Hi - yes, do check people are sending to the right international number... We've got both du and estislat contracts and don't have any trouble with either sending or receiving texts and calls from the UK

Make sure that whoever texts you from the uk puts the 00971 and drops the first 0 off your number, I used my uk mob when we first moved to Dubai with no trouble but it does cost more to send and recieve from here and will cost more for whoever sends you texts. Good luck :)

I am with Du and have an unlocked UK handset. I can receive calls ok and text messages from people within UAE. However text messages from the UK are either not getting through or they take ages-the last one took a week. Is this normal service and if not, any idea what the problem might be?. Anyone from Uk who can comment on their experiences please. Thanks.
