We also thought it was our cat at first but then when the second one shook and we saw the cat sitting there calmly it was bizarre! Actually the cats were not spooked at all so it sounds more and more that it's not an earthquake? Would love to know the reason too

We had 3 sets of shakes! The first was just before 7:30-- we thought it was someone pounding on our floor-to-ceiling kitchen windows, which freaked us out! Then it happened again after a few minutes-- REALLY freaking us out-- then again after another 20! My husband was home by then, he dashed outside to chase what he thought were stray cats launching themselves at the windows (or fighting in front of the window?) but nothing to be seen... Very strange indeed! Would love to hear any explanations... Was just reading thread about fault lines so it did cross my mind. But it seemed to be just the windows rather than a general tremor (maybe they are the weakest link?). We are in Jumeirah 1, near the zoo.

3 times it's happened though, violently! I was sitting reading the post about earthquakes in Dubai when the first one happened!!! Just wondering if it will happen again, hope not as finally got the children settled, they are frightened too!
