Can anyone advice plz
Deadly bored :(
If you are a licensed, qualified dentistI would be contacting the DHA to enquire about local licensing and begin to apply for jobs in one of the many dental clinics here. Depending on where you are from and what languages you speak, try breaking in through a dentals clinic owned by someone of a similar background, as often people from that nationality may attend that clinic and being able to speak in their language for things related to medical is a big advantage. Even try government. You are in a good position here with a professional degree. With the mandatory health insurance from next year, more people will be accessing clinics and jobs will become available, so you are actually very fortunate compared to non-professionally qualified persons who are struggling as they go head to head with others for non-qualification-necessary positions.
Look at the DHA job site, there are often jobs posted. Directly contact clinics. And ask the DHA what you need to do to be ready to work here on your qualifications (attestation, local licensing etc.).
Yeah you are right....I'm trying my best...I'm from Pakistan so mostly trying finding clinics of same background but it's really hard as I don't know anyone personally of my profession in Dubai...honestly speaking in Dubai western trained docs are more in demand...but I'm still hopeful....thank you so much for your advice ?... Stay blessed dear ☺️

thank you so much for such detailed advice....yeah I'm considering to learn language...I hope I get my job soon cuz I'm almost gone crazy being all day at home....but thank you ladies for listening to my being bored story ?
Enjoy your downtime while you can!
I was a housewife too when my husband moved to three Emirates before settling in Dubai (hope this time for good!). I had to follow him around so I left my old job in Abu Dhabi and moved to Sharjah. I had a homebased job then for a year but it wasn't a regular job so there were downtimes. We lived there for a year because he worked at an oil company there. A year later we found ourselves packing for Dubai when we both got better jobs here.
Here are my suggestions:
1. Find a hobby.
- Whether it's scrapbooking, reading, writing, sowing and other fun things that can keep you preoccupied, now is the time you can do it! I've been through each and everyone of these hobbies and it was a fun time to have all that time without feeling guilty.
2. Learn a new language.
- Perhaps learn Arabic? There are plenty of free and paid classes around town. Look online for some workshops and classes. You'll be surprised!
3. Learn how to cook or experiment new dishes.
Now that I'm working I have no time at all experimenting on dishes and baking new treats. I always want to plop on the bed and just stay there and not move after work!
4. Read, read and read!
I finished about 30 books in a few months time during my year off work. It was glorious!
The list is endless. I know it's not easy to keep calm and not go crazy. We've all been there. Some of us are just wired to do something and we can't keep still. Just tell yourself that this is just a phase, it will pass and you'll soon be a busy bee. Because really, be careful what you wish for! You'll be busy in no time. ;)
Enjoy!!
Hi Buntu01,
You're not alone. I share a similar story. It hasn't been easy for me to find a job here in Dubai although I am an MBA graduate. However, I signed up to a new language learning course to fill up my schedule a bit. It's entertaining and beneficial. Looking to tutor some school students; duno how possible/legal is that here.
Hope that you will find a job! :):)
