Hello EW,
I did go to threads that discussing JESS, did read the KHDA reports, long story short: I've done my homework!

However, after moving schools and countries, my children settled very well in their school it's in the springs- and now received this email from JESS telling me they have places for my children, we had our children to be on their waiting list now for 5 years, this school was all what we wanted.
The school they attend is absolutely fab, starting with teachers who are great, the healthy mix of children, the extra curriculum activities, great school lay out and facilities like swimming pool and children play ground, ending with senior team leaders... My only con for the school is the long commute to the school.
Now what I'm asking for: inside views from parents who are in JESS Jumeirah, what the school look like? How the teacher are like? Facilities? after school activities?
All the reviews I can see are back to 2011, so if you don't mind; I'm here to listen, if you can't say it on public forum I can provide an email to meet up and tell me about your experience, or just drop me a hint and I'll follow.

I hope I didn't ask too much, but I did search high and low, and all I get is second hand info from friends of someone whom are just happy with the school.
Thanks ladies in advance

Ladies, thank you all!! My children finally got into JESS ?? The last couple of weeks, between the existing school and Jess. Until this very moment never been to JESS for a school tour yet! As they have their tours only at 8:45 am and by that time I'm still on the road and not even near the school! Anyway, this too will be sorted, I guess it's the that strange feeling of getting something you've been waiting for, a very long time, despite leaving the country and coming back, not even sure about the initial receipt we paid the registration for the children ? But we finally made it! Thank you ladies ?

It might sound very obvious but have you visited the school recently to get your own feel of the place? Ask the Head how long he/she is staying etc. Schools can go up or down sometimes through no fault of their own. I knew someone whose child went to a lovely Swiss private school - one of the masters was accused by his wife of child abuse - he went to jail for some time and of course the school went "down" . It was later decided the wife had made it all up but I don't know if the school ever fully recovered.

Hi Gorobattie, We also spent a while on the waiting list for JESS Jumeirah and eventually got in. We moved without hesitation and are very glad we did. The management, the teachers, the students and the general vibe are all great. My child is extremely happy there and I can recommend it without hesitation. The facilities are older than other schools and not "flashy", but very well maintained and updated (last summer there was new wiring, plumbing, bathroom renovations etc.). The IT department is award-winning for its innovation. The sports teams do very well, the library has fun reading schemes and competitions, the music programme turns out some great musicians, etc. The small size (for Dubai) and empty sandlot across the road for parking (never any risk of not getting a space on there) make it very manageable. As Frazzled said, entrance to JESS Ranches is guaranteed, and many children get into Dubai College as well. I hope this helps!

My kids are very happy in JESS Ranches, so I can't comment on JESS Jumeirah. However, it is worth noting that pupils of JESS Jumeirah are guaranteed places at JESS Secondary Arabian Ranches, which is very well regarded, and means you are free of the panic of trying to get secondary places if you are at a school which doesn't have them.
