I suggest that you pay at the RTA when your registration car is due as it will avoid extra cost when paying them online. True actually forgot about that - I think you pay an extra 10 dhs online.

Using that link you can also pay online and not just view fines. There's no penalty for not paying straight away, so a lot of people just accumulate their fines until they have to renew their car registration. You can't renew your car registration unless all fines are paid off. Although bear in mind that if it's a company car, then you should pay it off asap as one outstanding car fine on a company car pretty much delays the paperwork for all cars owned by that company. If you're not in a rush to pay though, then I suggest you wait. About once a year they have a period where all traffic fines are reduced by 40%, as an initiative to get people to settle their fines! This period actually just ended on the 11th Jan so you've missed it this time, but I'm sure they will have another one in a few months. It was great paid off my hubby's 700 dhs speeding fine on my car (grrrrrrr) for 430 dhs!

Hey Yes was given in Dubai. Would I get late payment fine or just what face value is? Thanks again I paid face value. The police told me i didnt have to pay it immediately even though i got a text to say i should There is a website for the Police Traffic Department and if you go onto it and put in your number plate and alphabet number on your plate any fines will show up a week or so after said event

Hello You can pay it when you re- register your car. Although it says you must pay it immediately you do not have too ( I have been through this in the past) was the fine given in Dubai? If so the above is okay if it is another Emirates i am not sure I think you pay it at the Police HQ on SZR next to where you re-register your car :-) <em>edited by louisedvs on 25/01/2012</em>
