ah, silly me i changed my address to here on my Ebay account and thought it would be ok for my paypal account too but obviously its not going to be as simple as i thought! Back to square one. Typical when i have spotted something i want to buy aswell! oh well, back to shopping malls instead

we have an internet phone with a uk phone number (we chose a dialling code the same as our uk address) - calls home for pennies and anyone in the UK can ring us cheap too...

I just had a nightmare with them!! I have happily been using my UK account here for the last 4 years. But then they did a random security check and asked me to provide proof of my listed address (within 3months) and also be available within 1 minute to answer my home landline. I couldnt do either as the details listed were out of data, but I guess if you still have accounts in the UK and have someone at your registered home landline to take the call for you then you can get through the security. I ended up faxing them loads of evidence of me no longer living at these addresses and in the process they advised me to close my UK account and open a UAE one. I think that some places might charge you a currency conversion charge but not used it yet so not exactly sure, but think that is the only difference. Hope that makes sense, if not please ask away and I will try to clarify for you where I can :)

I use my Aussie address (we still have a home there) and just change the shipping address to here-most sellers will be happy to do that but email them before bidding because the odd one won't as Paypal won't insure for shipping to a different address-at least that is my understanding

Hi everyone, this might be a stupid question but i had a paypal account (when in UK) and tried to change my address to here but it wont let me. Can u only use paypal with a uk address? i was hoping to buy from ebay and use paypal to pay. Am i being stupid assuming this? thanks in advance
