I have an old 3 seater and 2 seater sofa that I need to dispose as we have now bought new. Does anyone know where I can dispose of these in or around the springs area. I've been quoted 300dhs by Dulsco to remove them from my villa but I think this is quite expensive. Any suggestions? Won't Take My Junk do that for you? Or maybe they'd be useful for the RAK animal shelter?

The sofas are black (immitation leather) but very worn as they have started to peel. Could be covered with a throw or a blanket I suppose. Had them 2 years but not very comfortable to be honest. edited by dorisdaydream on 25/09/2011

Hi Doris, How old are the sofas? Can you tell me anything about them? I'm in the market for one! Thanks :)

The recyling bins at Choitrams & Spinneys are deceptively large - that's where we took most of our cardboard boxes. Although there were many picked up overnight from outside our villa ( I believe there is a premium paid for cardboard so the security guys whisk stuff away :-)

The centre mentioned below is now closed. :-( Does anyone know if there is an alternative where one can take household rubbish that does not fit in waste bins? I think it is possible to organise a collection of larger objects from one's house but I wonder whether the municipality charge for this. I just have a couple of large chipboard cabinet sides to dispose of. Any help on where to take them to would be gratefully received. Thanks
