I searched previous thread for Int'l Movers and the recommendations are for move to USA and UK. We came from USA with Coleman/Picksford and now we are relocating to Mumbai India. Can anyone please provide comments and recommendation for int'l movers for my move to India? Thanks.

Selected Sante Fe and they were most responsive. Will keep you all posted by end November.

To PJ and JaneClare13 : Was your shipment international? I called Acorn 2 days ago and am still waiting for them to call me back. DASA does not have affiliation in Mumbia but they use 2 agencies for the clearance/transportation over in Mumbia. So far waiting for Sante Fe and Allied Quote.

So far I have Sante Fe and Allied Picksford coming to quote this week. Will call DASA and Leaderpack for quotes too. Nice to be able to compare. Thanks ladies.

Myself and colleagues have used Leaderpack for local and international transfers - professional and capable (not necessarily the cheapest but that isn't always best).

DASA International Movers moved two of my neighbours last year to Australia and UK and both were very complimentary about the service. I remember checking their website (www. dasadxb.com - Tel 04 3344545) at the time and they are FIDI FAIM certified and noting its a family run business. The company has also been recommended on EW.

Looks like we had the same problems..our door to door was left kerbside for me to cart up 2 flights of stairs on my own...had to change 2 flights as it was 12 weeks late and the uk handler held ours to ransom as well....that was Acorn.

What we found with international moving is that its very important to check that whatever company you use has a local office in the country of destination. Things went very wrong for us because although the packing service was good, the company we used did not have an office to handle arrival and onward transportation, they used a thrid party agent. This was problematic because the onward agent claimed they had not been paid for port charges, handling and delivery at all although we had paid the Dubai company in full for door to door Our entire belongings were held to ransom while the issue was argued to and fro and it took us a long time and many calls back to Dubai to get it sorted. Our belongings arrived 6 weeks later than planned which caused us enormous inconvenience.
