I get a part time maid (through a cleaning co) she is a philipino (clean, nice, good with kids, quite and speaks good english). Her contract expires with the co soon and she is looking for a job (as a live-in maid or as a cashier since she has an experience or some other job).
She needs to have her visa transferred once the contract expiers.
I would have loved to take her but dont have a space in my house for a live-in :-(

Just to answer the thread question of the day, it seems like the rates vary by nationality. I am looking for an indian maid who speaks english and I'm hoping for less than 1500. While other folks tell me that maids from burma or South africa will cost me much more...upwards of 2400 a month!

I dont mean To hijack your thread...i am interested but wondering What's a ballpark monthly estimate for having a live in maid? Including all visa and living costs? Just trying to see if the costs are what our budget can handle :)
