Has anyone ever had anything sent from the UK via this service? I've had 2 items sent and then the tracking says "Delivery Unsuccessful" and when I called the Royal Mail they said all they can see is that it says due to the fact my address is a POBox they cant deliver, addressee advised to collect but then they cant tell me where to collect from and to contact Empost, of course when I try to contact Empost they're very unhelpful too - has anyone had experience of this? It says that the items will be returned to UK if I dont collect but how can I collect if I dont know where from?! Help! TIA

Massive thank you for all the responses ladies, I eventually got through to someone at Empost who said go to Karama which is where the POBox is, from there they said go to Jumairah post office and the parcel was there - phew!! Why there was no slip in the POBox to say they had tried to deliver they couldnt tell me, I'm just relieved and lesson learned - if I order ANYTHING to check first how they plan to send it, thats the first time in 5 years I've ever had a problem! Thanks again! :)

I agree with RuthM in going in person. But start with the PO Box that you and your DH's mail goes to (his company PO box, unless you have a personal one too.) It may be with one of the other larger ones, but the post office staff are very helpful and should be able to point you in the right direction. :) Yes the first time we had a parcel disappear we tried Karama but they just told us to start with our local post office. If the PO Box number was on the parcel it will be wherever your local post office sends parcels. But if there was no PO Box number on it then it will be at Karama.

Undeliverable parcels go to Karama as far as I know, there is a dept there which keeps them for about 2 weeks then either returns to sender if possible or destroys them. If all else fails better go to the General Postal in Karama and ask about that dept.

We had this problem. We didn't receive a slip or anything but Royal Mail said the parcel was with Empost. We went to the post office in Al Barsha and they checked something. Then they sent us to another post office who sent us to another post office, finally at the fourth post office we found our parcel! It took an entire day but we found it eventually. I would recommend visiting your local post office in person. Good luck.

All I can tell you is that if its fallen into the hands of Empost you are going to need the tracking number and even with that it takes endless effort to get them to work. I spent 10 hours yesterday waiting for them to deliver as promised between 9am and 3pm, finally after six calls to the supervisor they turned up at 7.30 pm and they probably would never have even come at all if I had not bugged the heck out of them. Sorry I cannot be more helpful. My advice is never use the post. I could cry, one of the items is a bespoke dress I've had made for my 30th birthday, it cost a small fortune, If I'd known they wern't going to courier I wouldnt have ordered :( That's a shame! If you have the tracking number have you tried tracking it on theTrack/Trace website? I find it works better than the Dubai postal service tracking. It covers all post parcels worldwide, perhaps some useful info will come up to help you find where your parcel is located in Dubai. Also have you also been to your PO box to see if there is an advice slip there? http://www.track-trace.com/post edited by Di@DXB on 16/04/2013
