[b'>[i'>[i'>Hello ladies!
I have questions about finding a live-out maid...
Do you go through an agency to find this person? If so, any recommendations on that?
Do you still have to "sponsor"? I would like for her to be able to do household duties, help out with children during the week and occasional babysitting on the weekends.
I have no clue how to even start the process. Is there a guideline out there that helps with interview questions and putting together contracts? Things to look for and what to avoid in a candidate? We have only been in Dubai for 1 month- I have alot of questions...about everything!
Thanks for any help/tips you can provide! [/i'>[/i'>[/b'>:)
Hi Tara K
I posted an ad in the classifieds on this website and got quite a few responses from nannies/maids looking for live out positions. Alternatively, you could go through an agency - they will handle everything for you but will charge for it! If you or your husband have PRO services at work, you may be able to have your PRO organise all the admin for you. Under the terms I have stipulated in my arrangements with the lady we are hiring, she will live out in her own accommodation and we will supply her with visa/sponsorship and an all inclusive salary (including flight home). Unfortunately you cannot hire someone to help you (even part time) without offering them sponsorship, it would be regarded as illegal.
Good luck!

Thanks Ladies. Whilst checking references, I found out her current employer pays 1000 dirhams less than what she has asked me for. So I will offer her the same wage as she currently receives with an option to increase in six months subject to good performance and also an hourly rate for any overtime/weekend work.
thanks again for your feedback.
Hi.
I pay my live out nanny AED4,000 per month. She works 5 days but typically is there from 730am til 630pm so around 45-50 hours a week.
If we require babysitting at weekend, we dont pay her , just give her money for a cab home.
I think this is a fair wage as she has to cover her transport and accommodation.
I dont think you are being ripped off if the person is experienced and reliable.
It is on the high-end for sure. Perhaps you could start her on 3000 and then say that you will do a review in 6 months time??? That would seem fair to me.
Hi, I would say that is a fair price I pay almost the same for my new live out maid. How mny days / hours is yours working? Mine is only 5 days and 8 hours a day, if yours is more than I think that would be totally fine not a rip off as she does have to pay her costs too, accm, trans, food, dewa ect Also yes we are providing a yearly ticket on top.
Hi Ladies
I am about to hire a nanny/maid for the very first time. It is a live out position and I am aware that you normally have to pay a slightly higher salary to cover rent and travel. In fact, one agency I called told me that this should be about 700dhs per month.
Now, I have found a Philippina lady who has several years experience in the UAE and is a qualified teacher with childcare training and first aid training. She is a standout candidate based on the range of interviews I have undertaken.
However, she is asking for what seems to be a high salary - 3,500dhs per month. She would like an airfare on top of this. I'm quite impressed with her and am happy to pay but hubby is of the view we are being ripped off.
I'd be keen to hear other feedback bearing in mind this is a live out position, the lady is in her forties and has references.
TIA
