Hi,

I was wondering if there are any nice places to go to for snorkeling in the UAE. I know there was a red tide a while ago on the East Coast so I don't want to go if there is nothing to see :(

Anybody been anywhere great lately?

There are other options beside GT, http://sheesabeach.com. It is a dive centre half on the mountain. You can also take a snorkel trip with them on a dhow. However I have never been there so I don't know how the room look like. Also there is a guest house on the beach from http://www.adventure.ae/ad-centre.html Never been there either. Last time the showers were ok, but I guess it depend on the amount of people and the mess they make :-(

You should take your own equipment as the only thing I remember being there was the Golden Tulip Hotel, unless Belinda is referring to a different beach. The toilets and showers were disqusting last time we were there. Water was turned off. Esss hhh eye tea everywhere! Unless Belinda has been very recently and can shed more light on this I wouldn't count on them being in any useable state. However, I can vouch for the snorkelling there. We've been a few times since the red tide season and have seen sea turtles, crabs and lots of fish. When are you going? Please report back your experience.

Thank you!!! And is there a company that rents out the snorkeling gear there or do I need to bring my own?

you can camp in Dibba Oman as well with ur dog. It is not any Omani border but UAE checkpoint only checking passport or ID. Next to Golden Tullip on the beach you can camp there is toilet and shower as well.

In Dibba Fujeirah, Dibba Rock, 3 rocks, Snoopy Island, Sharq Island or Martini Rock. Other option, Dibba Oman and snorkel in the Musandam. Red tide was like 2 years ago. I dive nearly every weekend either Musandam or E.coast haven't seen any red tide! [url=http://smileyjungle.com'>[img'>http://smileyjungle.com/smilies/sporty35.gif[/img'>[/url'>
