Positives: Excellent committed teachers Great community feel Small class sizes (15 approximate per class ) Reasonable fees Approachable principal Outstanding PE teachers Opportunity for children to shine in their own way - dance, public speaking at weekly assembly etc Cons Lack of finished facilities such as pool, auditorium, cafeteria So there is what I think most parents of Star will tell you.

I have one child in year 3 currently, and we have been very happy with the school. His class size is about 13-14 kids and there are two yr3s. With Star you know, that your child will be nourished and motivated, challenged positively, have intimate class sizes, have great teachers that really care, and that he/she will be able to explore different sports as well as dance (there are a couple big dance productions) with the amazing PE staff, and have an excellent overall school environment. There are lots of different workshops the kids get to choose from, and then there is a big range of after school activities, both paid and non-paid. Also, the teachers are 100% approachable.

What kind of things do you want to know? There was another thread recently about the lack of pool and other facilities and whether the poster should give up on the school and move her children. I think that kind of sums up the downside of the school. There were promises made more than 2 years ago that have yet to be fulfilled. It's not a problem for the younger years, but as the school grows it's definitely more of an issue. And, whilst there are after school activities there really isn't the range that you get in more established schools. However, if you don't have a choice of schools then Star is okay.

My DD is there and my other about to join her in Sept. We have been very pleased with the school for the past 2 years. Teachers are excellent and there is a lovely nurturing atmosphere there. Plus after school activites and range is excellent. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone. However on the downside, I think the school is growing faster than the facilities which is a great shame. Still no pool...auditorium seems to be on hold..still not many outside play areas / landscaping etc. Still, I always see happy, well adjusted, well mannered kids every day which is the most important thing in my eyes along with a love of learning and keenness to get to school every day.

Nice classrooms and teachers but lack of areas for the bigger kids to play other than an uneven patch of grass in the middle.
