Is anyone else paying monthly payments that are way over the top?
Mine have risen from £55 a month to £246, its outrageous!!

be careful... I know someone who ended up with a CCJ and didn't even know about it until they returned home. They catch up eventually! They right it off if you've been out of the country for so long. I still don't earn enough to pay it back anyway.

Erm... they'd have to find me first for me to worry about it! Thats shocking though. HAve you changed jobs or anything recently and filled in a new assessment form? LOL ditto. Or just keep deferring it. They've given up trying to contact me and I haven't heard anything from them in about 5 years.

As BellaUK said, have you contacted them? If you complete a self assessment for overseas, they recalculate your repayments based on your earnings. Mine came down to under a hundred pounds this year :0)

That usually happens when you have missed the deadline for your 'annual self assessment' and they will put you on a standard (extortionate) rate until you give them your salary info. Same thing happened to me once but mine actually went down this summer, I think because the allowance for the UAE slightly increased of something.
