thats a lot of liqueur in a cake....normally you would just add a couple of tablespoons, do you not have any coffee?you would be better to mix up instant I think.....
That much alcohol could do something weird in the baking process....

Just what I was thinking! The original recipe just calls for brewed coffee. Aargh! Will tell DH to drink the liqueur and leave me in peace!
Thanks Freckles .It's a chocolate cake, so guessing the coffee is supposed to help the chocolate flavor? DH ( mistake letting him into the kitchen) insists on alcohol in his cake, even though he knows there's not going to be any left after baking!!

It depends on whether the cake is supposed to taste heavily of coffee? The coffee liqueur won't give it a strong coffee taste. The liqueur is supposed to be in addition to the cup of coffee
Urgent help please! Can I substitute coffee liqueur for brewed coffee in a cake recipe? The recipe calls for 1 cup of brewed coffee. Grateful for any help.
