And I've had: Them: "How many children do you have" Me: "None" (and as I know I'm going to get asked why, I then tell them not everyone that wants children can have them" Them: Big pause... "Ma'am, are you sure you don't have any children?" Me: "Yes, no children" Them: Bigger 'thinking' pause.. "Ma'am, are you SURE you don't have any children?" Me: "Oh, silly me! There they are!" :\::\::\: Yes, this is one of my favourites too, particularly with taxi drivers! I have been known to invent children just to prevent the inevitability of this conversation!

I remember being told off in Spinneys because my newborn was slumped in his carseat and that I shouldn't take a young baby out of the house. A......he was a new born and new borns slump plus the fact he was fast asleep, cosy and comfy; and B...if I hadn't gone to Spinneys then the rest of the family whould have starved lol

The hard part is going home to the UK to a supermarket and trying not to talk in pidgeon english to the supermarket checkout person. LOL! And not standing there really confused because you cannot find anyone to weigh and price your veg in the fruit and veg section! And my contribution. When in an Indian or a Thai restaurant, using the term "little spicy" to describe how you want your food cooked!

i read through this whole thread and its brightened my rainy day, some are so funny. i love the one - i am in a hurry, two for the hair, feet and hands, so good. all so good. my contribution seen and heard - go out to get the dogs groomed no they come to the house. who clears the trays away at the food court who recycles just chuck it down the garbage shway mam/sir i'll have my car washed at the mall lets valet park its too hot to walk you want what ironed, call the laundry straight straight what shall we do this (summer ) weekend, theres nothing to do apart from shopping <em>edited by fairwater on 03/06/2012</em>

Friend of mine is in supermarket wants to buy a whole solid 300gm piece of Parmesan cheese. Goes to cheese counter points to the lump of Parmesan, chap indicates where he estimates he should cut it she says 'Yes, great'. You guessed it, he takes the cheese turns away to package it and she gets a nice neat bag ot 'grated' cheese.....
