Today morning today Night Please do the needful I would like to know what is the correct sentence for : [b'>Please do the needful[/b'> coz i see this everywhere and we were taught this too. :( Thanx I understand it is shorthand for "Please could you do what is necessary" (or "that which is necessary" if you're being really formal). Nah - it's Indian English.

TBH I really do not like it when English speakers make fun of others who can not speak English as a native does. It really grinds on me the audacity of some expats in this respect. However, recently i saw a very serious note sent out by a company stating that "All accounts overdue will be constipated". LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!!!!! This thread is such a stress reliever. also good for learning the correct usage. This is the beauty of a language it adapts and evolves so well.

After injuring his toe today DS told me how much it was "paining". see now, Ive been here so long 'paining' is like a real word, lol You mean like in [url=http://www.expatwoman.com/forum/messages.aspx?TopicID=177195'>here[/url'>. What about something "is seeming to help"? [url=http://www.desismileys.com/'>[img'>http://www.desismileys.com/smileys/desismileys_3535.gif[/img'>[/url'> lol, exactly like there! I was paining bad!

Backside would be great thankyou... *Obviously whilst in a taxi* Bahaha - the "in the taxi" doesn't necessarily make it an any less dubious phrase, given the goings-on of a certain british couple recently ;) Hee hee.... *Note to self*... Must be *More vigilant* when giving directions in future....

'look, same same car as mummys' (DD on schoolrun, not me, lol) 'we all say that in the beginning, just wait, you will get a maid eventually' 'I don't NEED a maid, I can cope fine without, but having one makes me a better parent' 'No thanks, I don't want to buy carpets' (at 8am on a Saturday after they ring the doorbell) 'a 5 seater just doesn't have enough room, I need a bigger car!' 'Which AC cleaning company do you use?' 'Where can I buy car seat covers, the seats just get to hot' 'Careful you don't burn yourself on the seatbelt!' 'No thanks, Im ok, I'll take the trolley to the car myself' 'Can someone pack the bags for me please?' (I only rarely do this, and only in the expensive supermarkets, lol)

"I'll have to check with my husband" (I say this all the time now if I don't want to do/agree to something.) So do I, but I also get v fed up when the gardener refuses to talk to me and says "When will Boss be back?"

"I'll have to check with my husband" (I say this all the time now if I don't want to do/agree to something.) do you have any sultanas?, no, how about yellow raisons....white raisons, great I'll take those (always ask the same question in as many ways as possible until a no becomes a yes). "can I see the Dr today? no appointments, are you sure, are you sure, can you check, are you sure, please check, an appointment, great thank you so much (in the same vein as above) "we're going inside now, better put some warm clothes on"

Can I place an order for delivery please, 2 onions, no that's it and I only have 1000 dirhams, can you bring change please! ''What is your good name?'' what as opposed to my bad name?! (this annoys me, and then caught myself saying it the other day)!! Oh you poor thing, you don't have a maid...how do you cope?!!! This thread is so funny!
