We don't seem to get as many flyers as you're getting. They don't bother me unless they are wrapped in plastic - I really try to limit the amount of plastic we use. The flyers from Emaar are usually stapled with an elastic band so they can be easily hung without the need for a plastic bag with a handle. I particularly hate it when the newspaper is wrapped in plastic.
Emaar may not pay any attention to complaints as the flyers for the Polo/Gold Club are usually stapled to other flyers for which I'm sure Emaar charges quite a bit so it's a revenue stream!
guess it's just me then :) oh well, I'll just hang a no flyers sign and see if that works. I don't mind the occasional one it's just that five in a morning is a bit excessive.
thanks for your opinion anyways, calmed me down a little!! :)
Some of the flyers are handy to have and I wouldn't get to know some of the places unless I had a flyer put on my door step. I can go days without anything, to be honest it doesn't bother us, we keep what we want and throw away what we don't. In fact we had a menu put through last week, rather handy as I couldn't be bothered to cook on Saturday, and it was rather tasty!
Nippy
The plastic bags are to enable them to hang the contents from your door handle since we don't have letter boxes. It doesn't bother us - we always have a quick glance at whatever it is and then recycle. Except for the menus - they're useful !! Still not as much as we get through our door in the UK.
And don't get me started on the flyers and newspapers left in the driveways of obviously untenanted villas! Newspapers get blown all over the road and make the whole area look a mess!
DH's pet hate is the gas man sticking the stickers on the cabinet outside.... As soon as he takes them off, another one is there the next day. I've told him to just let it go, and leave it there, but it is something that just annoys him, and he has to take it off every time! And usually I'm the one that gets annoyed with the little things!
I have just come home to find another 5 advertisements in my car port.
If you find this as irritating as I do please write to Emaar and complain, it will take more than my one little complaint to get the ball rolling. I also just found the same company left a flyer on my car, door, on the post, and in the trees! Immediately I called this company and the man was extremely apologetic and concerned about how many of his flyers were being wasted. Funny how when something starts to bug you you suddenly feel like going on a rampage about it!
PLEASE write a complaint or suggestion to Emaar, found at this address:[url=http://www.emaar.ae/index.aspx?page=contact'>link[/url'> under We Care
My suggestion/complaint was as follows:
****************
I come home to anywhere between 5 -10 flyers hung on my doorway.
1) These flyers are being hung in the carports, this is private property and the delivery men should not be entering our carport. If they are selling something or delivering something they should be going to the front doors.
2) This is so WASTEFUL! I immediately put all flyers in the recycling bin outside my door. A lot of them are even sealed in a plastic bag! We don't even have severe weather to justify protecting an advertisement. I receive numerous flyers over and over again, I do not require 10 menus for the same pizza place!
3) These companies should be told that they are NOT to deliver to villas that have a [b'>NO FLYERS/ADVERTISMENT[/b'> sign on their doorway. If they do they will be banned from advertising in the Arabian Ranches.
4) Residents of the Arabian Ranches should be informed that they are able to post a NO FLYERS NO PAMPHLETS sign on their doors should the wish to not receive these.
Right now Emaar is posting signs regarding a GREENER COMMUNITY. Currently I do not find that allowing all of these advertisements into the Ranches as promoting a green environment.
I would appreciate some action and a solution on this.

Thanks!
