i feel sometimes that i just got enough of... working. I get a feeling sometimes that i just want to join all that happy looking early in the day females roaming around the mall, hanging out in the gyms, go for a morning coffee to the near by coffee shop, do grocery shopping during their day without rush and tiredness of working day behind.
I had a plan that soon this year i would be pregnant and then leave work randomly, pregnancy is not happening yet, but i feel that i just do not want to cont working anyway.
My DH is very proud that i am working and we are both "progressing" in certain similar way.
I am doubting if i shall open a topic with him of leaving my job, and what if later i will regret it, in terms of loosing my "long-time favorite" job.

I am a SAHM.. I quit working 3 yrs back.. great job but very stressful.. i was living on adrenaline all the time.. and maybe thats y we dint get pregnant either.. cos 3months after i quit i got pregnant.. Yes it is a bit weird not to have a job and be rushing all the time.. it takes a while to get used to sleeping in late.. and finding things to do with all that time in your hands.. I even went on a trip with a friend during that time.. had a blast! Now, I have a 20month old now and another one due in a couple of weeks inshalla, and i just recently found myself a new career in photography.. I enjoy it, its less stressful, i can do it at my own flexible timings, i am always there for my son. Agreed the pay isnt what I used to get, but I am happy. And yes, inshalla i hope I never have to work full time... :)

after 14 years of working like a dog, 12-14 hour days of stress, i hear you! i'm sure at some point i might get bored of not working but i'm sure i could cope with the first six months! I "retired" when we left the UK as my then work was quite specialised and thankfully no-one in ME has come looking for me :-) What I would say it was the right moment I had a long list of potential interests that I'd never had time for in almost 30 years of employment... now I'm finding some weren't that interesting after all, some have become a passion and there are a lot of things I still want to achieve. So my two penn'orth Lexie is you need some thing to give up work for - baby, hobby or whatever. And if I look happy wandering round the Mall first thing then its because I'm still revelling in having time to shop rather than dashing round Tesco's at closing time having just stepped off an airplane! I don't miss having to hunt for clothes in a foreign city during my lunch hour either...

I sometimes feel like that to be honest. I would love to do the school run and then spend the rest of the day doing a hobby, shopping.. but I like the fact that Im contributing to the household, I love working and the buzz of being at work ( I love my job and the people I work with ) I love the office banter, wearing a suit every morning and being so tierd at the end of the day that I fall asleep on the sofa whilst watching tv ! Weekends and holidays for me are precious and I wouldnt have it any other way ..

i know how you feel i was so looking forward to moving out here and giving up work for a couple of years but six months in and i am seriously looking at seeking employment and have an interview next week - I do the whole meeting the girls for coffee beach/pool in the mornings and look after my 2.5 yr old in the afternoons but i do miss work i feel like my brain has stopped working too. perhaps your employers would allow you a sabbatical ?? and you never know if you are off work maybe nature will take its course and you will have a LO to look after.

How long have u worked Lexie? its best not to act in haste as trust me you do a few days of lounging around at home, in malls etc and you will be tired of it more than your work.
