Hello!

My husband has abusiness trip to Dubai second week of August (we currently live in Doha) and I was thinking to tag along for some shopping. i've been to Dubai several times before but never during Ramadan.
Are the shopping malls open throughout the day?
How about the restaurants and food courts?

TIA

Ramadan's a great time for a shopping trip to Dubai, the Malls are virtually empty during the day.

In addition to comments below, you can get some super deals in Ramadan. Last year my friends came from manchester stayed on week at the one and only, it came to 800 quid in total. That included meals. When you bear in mind that's a direct flight to Manchester is pushing 700 quid these days, this was great value!

yes of course, shopping malls are open like normal working hours... restaurants and cafes are not during the day and eating in public is prohibited.. good luck You can eat if your a baby child or pregnant or breast feeding .. or elderly or sick. :)

Lots of the malls have places that are open, just curtained off. For example, sezzam and the hotel cafe are usually open in Mall of the Emirates. Wherever there is a hotel attached you will find somewhere to eat i imagine, Deira City Centre, Dubai Mall, Marina Mall etc.

Some places are open for food and drink, they just keep the shutters down or have an area curtained off to make it discreet.

Thx. Are the hotel restaurants open during the day or there any places that offer takeaways for lunch?
