Has anyone had experience with transporting their beloved pets from the UK? And if so, how easy/difficult is it?

We used airpets from the uk and they were superb. Very easy to deal with. They collected our cat from our house and took her out to the airport for us. She was met and cleared through in Dubai by Alison from the Dubai doghouse who was superb too! We have since returned to the uk and Alison sorted out the return arrangements for us. Our cat was beautifully looked after and arrived back to the uk safe and well. I would highly recommend both airpets and Alison.

Another thumbs up for Mike at Animal Airlines, we used them UK side and then Dean from Dubai Kennels and Cattery here. Both were great, and although I was a nervous wreck my two boys arrived very relaxed and hapoy.

We used Petair, based in Dorset, back in 2008 when we moved here with our labrador. And DKC this end. Both were excellent. Petair wasn't the cheapest of those we looked at, but it did what we needed at the time and as it was 2 minutes down the road for my friend who had our dog for a few weeks while we found a home here it was the best fit for us.

I would not advise anyone to bring their pets over until after this summer, only because of the 'situation' in the region, not saying that there [i'>is[/i'> a situation, but just in case there was a situation. LOL you are funny

We have transported our beloved cat with us all over the world. Best advice I can give is to make sure the vet is aware of where you are going (which sounds like you already have) and hire a company to do everything for you. I second this. We tried to move our cats ourselves but it just became too complex with all the export regulations in the UK and the import paperwork here. We used Airpets on the UK side, who (I think?) use Dubai Kennels and Cattery on this side. Our contract here is now coming to an end and we intend to use both of these companies to do the reverse journey.

Companies have all the required contacts to get through government red tape and it will be a relief for you believe me. We are about to move and are doing the exact same thing as you only we are leaving Dubai. Good luck.

I've done this twice now using Mike at Animal Airlines in the UK and Alison at The Doghouse in Dubai. Can't rate the too highly - they were all fabulous and everything was hassle free.
