Ah or sometimes manually look for a provider. You can get a list of what providers have an agreement with Etisalat world wide.

It could have been your settings. It must be on "look for provider" and it will look for a phone provider ( Orange in France, Etisalat Eg in Egypt) and it works.

You no longer need a deposit if you are post paid. I use mine ( I am post paid) every Summer and never put a deposit ( etisalat) . DH as a dhs 5000 deposit for his roming and when they stopped collecting the deposit he went to try and get it back and was told no problem but you need to cancel your line first ...so they still have the money. Thanks shaks but mine didn't work last summer even though it was post paid?

So can you just call and activate it? Or do you have to go to the offices? moo moo just call them and ask :)

Just in case your phone is ancient like mine I found out that I couldn't get reception in the USA as my phone didn't have sufficient bandwidth.

Is it pre-paid or post-paid? If it's pre-paid all you have to do is call and enable international roaming and make sure you have credit on your phone. If it's post-paid, you nomally have to go and put a deposit down - it used to be 2,000 dhs to enable it.
