So, we never really do much on V day; but this time I just thought I'll make these baileys truffles for my sis in law...she's been asking me to make them since forever than anything else... I asked DH how many he wants me to keep for him and he's like "NO NO NO... I'm trying to lose my tummy (its not even that apparent..his "tummy")... just take aside one for me to taste and give the rest away". So after I kept some for SIL, I brought the rest to work. Turns out DH loved them, stole more than one from his sister's batch and now wants another batch just for himself as a V Day gift. :o MEN!!!

DH and I used to do the big dinner out on Valentine's Day night. Then, we got tired of paying the ridiculous prices for these promotional packages. Recent favorites have included him cooking me a special dinner at home (I do 99% of the cooking in our house) and a trip (with out our son) to the snow park at Ski Dubai. It was a blast! Some friends of ours always a dinner of red things on Valentines: boiled crayfish, red wine, lobster, strawberries, etc.

Nothing really, we refuse to buy into the commercial machine that it's become. Why should you only show how you feel or do something special on this day? Shouldn't you do little things everyday? That sounds like the kind of excuse my husband would make !!! lol Well isn't it an excuse for certain industries to make a wad of cash? Plus people put too much pressure on it. If you have a **** husband like me then it is a kick in the backside to do something nice for me for once. Commercial yes, but the only way I get a treat all year is Valentines day so Im all for it!

We don't buy each other anything, just a nice card. In the past we have had a takeaway and a bottle of wine, but now we have a LO and it's on a Monday, I doubt we will do anything. I did once, a long time ago, buy him a silver 'last Rolo', lol! Kind of useless and a bit kitsch but he thought it was sweet and it was kind of a symbolic thing as I don't share sweets as a rule! ;)

We just make it fun and only allow a maximum spend of £10 or whatever the going rate is here at the moment. So there's no pressure to be all romantic or be ripped off!! I have received a boat that lights up made of the best plastic money can buy, a baking tin shaped like a ship among other things - so getting quite excited about what this year will hold for me :) He has had a tiger shaped watch, where the paws wrap around your wrist, glasses that reflect hearts when you look at anything shiny and lots of equally useless but fun stuff!! I discovered Daiso and so he got loads of things last year!!

considering dry night and that my DH is travelling on 14th Morning -( - we will most likely go out for a quite dinner or wine/cheese evening on 13th.... as for the gift - no idea... last VD i got him a a wallet, which he is still using. This time he asked for a PS3 game - which i lready got him - so maybe will try to create something really small but full feelings.... keep thinking on it...

We don't really do anything, we don't go out and we very rarely buy anything for each other, usually just a little something at home - sorry no help In the past I've done little picnics in the lounge, this year I'm just going to get some little table decorations and make us a little dessert (we never have dessert in our house)
