I personally went with Invisalign as I found it less invasive. I did mine at the Noa dental clinic. Impressed with the treatment outcome. And Dr. Zul is such a warm person who goes above and beyond to make you feel comfortable!

Can anyone tell me approximately how much the Invisalign costs? I have been thinking about it but don't want to pay for a dentist's appointment to make enquiries if they are more than I would want to pay. I would probably just go for them on the top teeth. I have been quoted at Dubai Smile Center 10-12k depending on the case and whether you need top and bottom. Im off to NOA dental center on Mankhool Road today for a consultation on veneers.. Has anyone been there before and would they we something you would recommend?

Yes I think so SkyKitty, invisalign is usually only for quite minor work. My bite was slightly off and this couldn't be treated with it, I had to have the usual train tracks. Kat, I would say if you have nice shaped and coloured teeth go for the braces, it doesn't take that long and you teeth will be nice forever (assuming you look after them and wear a retainer). I have had braces and veneers, because my front laterals were too small, once my teeth were correctly aligned there were gaps at the front so I had veneers placed over the top to fill them out. If I had just had veneers without braces first they would have been placed over the top of an incorrectly aligned bite, which can cause huge problems if the cosmetic dentist doesn't take this into account and file the teeth and place the veneers correctly. How good your veneers are will depend on how good the dentist is who is fitting them, and also the technician who is making them. Mine was very thorough to get exactly the right match and I am very happy with mine. I had proper old school train track type braces and I would do it all again as I am very funny about my teeth. It is one of the first things I notice about people, whether they have good or bad teeth, I can't help it! I see Dr. Menhal at GMC, he is lovely. Good luck!

Does anyone know if someone who'd need a bridge to have braces (but didn't get hem) would need to have same for Invisaligns? The reason I refused braces in high school was because they'd have to literally crack my hard palate and attach a bridge to screw it slowly apart over months... my sister had the same and sobbed every day for six months from the pain... if there was a way to have nicer teeth without the pain I'd defintiely consider it! The Damon system sounds interesting, I don't think I'm actually permitted to have invisalign if I want to keep my job...

Not sure where you live but if you look for a good cosmetic dentist, there is dr Rasheed in Motorcity. I've seen the result on a lady who had veneers done recently (lumineers type), it looks nice (you can't even tell which teeth!) and prices are ok i believe.

Has anyone had good experiences of cosmetic dentists here? I have heard good things about Dr Joy at British Dental Clinic but am looking for recommendations. I just saw dr muneif at BDC, great. Thanks Kelly - interesting - the one time I saw him I really didn't like him at all. Horses for courses I guess.

If your teeth are a nice shape, you are happy with the color then I would suggest Invisalign. Normally, the straightening process is shorter than traditional braces, but of course this would depend on your individual case assuming you are a candidate for Invisalign. It would also work out cheaper than Veneers assuming you are going for more than just a few teeth. But again, best to check with a Dentist for the best treatment option. If you are due for a normal dental exam anyway, go and discuss the options available at the same time to avoid an extra consultation cost.

i have veneers on my top teeth and love them to death! have had them for 8 years. i hated my old teeth so much and the new ones changed my life (have posted abut this before). yes they were expensive and they will need replacing, but if you look after them well they can last a long, long time. I had to have one replaced last week, at the british dental clinic, they were great. the brace was not an option for me as my old teeth were misshapen and a brace would have given me straight, but still hideous teeth. it's the best money i ever spent and i would do it all again tomorrow. i only wish i could have done it sooner inlife - but i had to save up for them!

Wow thats great about the venners! Thanks for your replies everyone.. I'm in the search for a good dentist at the moment. Invisalign is a great idea but not sure if im keen on keeping braces for two years that aren't so invisible with the brackets they use!

I can't comment about having veneers done in Dubai - however I just wanted to say that I had mine done in the UK in 1984 and was told they would last about 10 years (it was still in the early days of veneers) and here I am with the same ones in 2012, 28 years later. I think they are getting a little bit thinner now as I can almost detect the marks on my teeth that they were put on to cover up.

Hi All, I am currently looking seriously at getting some veneers on my top teeth. I have heard mixed reviews - some people that love them and some say that after a few years they age and don't look good at all? Has anyone had them done in Dubai and can advise me?! The alternative option would be invisalign, but I'm not keen on waiting and the brackets they attach to your teeth are apparently really visible! 4 of my friends have had them done and tbh i think they look terrible. They look so unatural and fake and they all look a bit buck teethed . I suppose it all depends on who does them and what sort they use. I also heard that your own teeth rot behind them and you have to have them redone every few years. I dont know of any other procedures here that can give you good teeth and the above is purely my own opinion :-) Thanks in advance :)

I would not hesitate to go along the invisalign route then your teeth will be straightened for life, with vaneers you are always going to be having to get them replaced. Both my kids had tram tracks but teh results are stunning, so worth the time and money. I have heard invisalign are truly almost invisible why don't you go along and talk to an orthodontist here, my daughter went to Talass, they are expensive but excellent, I am confident to recommend them - her teeth are lovely, an orthodontist in the West End of London asked who did them and was very complimentary!
