Victory Heights Dewa Bill

We have lived in Victory Heights for a year now and our average bill with a pool (no chiller) is 12-1500aed. August was 4000aed and so was Sept. Dewa bill says it was mostly electricity... we are very very careful with our consumption and have one AC on during the day, maybe two. At night we have 2-3 on and only for about 8hrs then off. Lights are rarely on. Last August and Sept we were 12-1500 so this isn't making sense and we can't blame it on being hot outside and running all AC's

Anyone else getting these strange amounts from Dewa in Victory Heights (or anywhere else)? We are in a C3. Also, Dewa says they've been here to check the problem but I can't veryify if they've been here or not. Trying to get someone to answer is the phones is not an easy task. Any suggestions?

I have a small garden we are 3 adults and ournwater bill is around 200 dhs. Electricity is around 1100 dhs. I do keep an eye on both meters: I take a reading twice a week so I will be able tomspot a leak or a problem with our electricity consumption

I don't live in Victory Heights but we've had a similiar situation in our Meadows Villa. We had a H20 tank problem (with a hidden water leak) and our bill for August was 12,000 for the H20 portion. Yes, you read it right. I almost fell over. So our September bill is 3800. Still extremely high especially since we don't have any yard or plants that we are watering. We've had the maintenance people out to check our system but I guess our next step is to contact Dewa. My husband talked to them when he paid the huge bill and they said there wasn't anything they can do. It's the landlords problem. Of course the landlord refuses to reimburse us the $$. Welcome to Dubai!! It's our second month here and this is what we are faced with. So frustrating. We obviously can't continue having bills these high. but i don't know what else to do. I've done a little research and it seems like the more popular areas/neighborhoods are hit with higher DEWA bills. It seems so unfair but I think it's true.

I would be so gutted! heard lots of stories about crazy DEWA bills. I was unhappy when our 1bed apt bill was 550 for August!

WOW, that's insane. It really doesn't make any sense at all. How to go from 12-1500 per month to 4000aed just boggles my mind. No it's not me with the 8000aed bill. We do have a pool and take that into consideration but we've had the pool running for 1 year. Lady at DEWA said it didn't make sense and something was wrong but apparently the meter was checked and there's no problem. Will call Dewa again, get someone to come out and I'll watch. Then I guess we call jims fix it, then a realestate company then the moving company then leave Victory Heights...not too dramatic hey?

I have a friend living at Victory Heights (maybe it is you)and her DEWA was 8000 AED last month (no swimming pool). She has queried the bill and had the meter checked and has now made the decision to move out. You could pay off a mortgage with that kind of money!
