Wow, wish I would have know this a year ago!! I paid 200 Dh/month for 11 months! On the other hand, I kept hoping I would get my license and work visa the next month, so I didn't think it would drag on for so long. THANK YOU, because when my DD is here we will probably do this for a while until she decides how long she wants to stay in Dubai. YOUR INFORMATION IS MUCH APPRECIATED! :)

in abu dhabi you could always pay at immigration 500dhs to "not do the visa run" but its only allowed 30 days etc if you are on the list. but now in abu dhabi at the moment in order to get your visa you now need an id card application etc. you can only go to immigration once and pay, the rest of the time you had to go across the border, are you saying that now you can pay for a 1 year visa??????? hmh not sure about that as the visa's have come down to 2 years as of last january anyhow unless you work in a freezone or government dept they still issue 3 year visas.
