Likey or unlikey? I have no idea I'm not from Scotland but would be nice for my DD and DS to see some white stuff?

It didnt snow last year.... Snow? Edinburgh and Scotland were shut down. It snowed alright!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It didn't snow on the xmas day!flts were bad from backlog... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-12078425 December is on course to be the coldest since records began in 1910, the BBC weather centre has said. Christmas Day was extremely cold in much of the UK and fresh snow fell in Aberdeen, Glasgow and Edinburgh, making it a white Christmas in those areas. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/topics/weather/8225058/Boxing-Day-snow-warning-as-parts-of-Britain-see-a-white-Christmas.html Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen and the north-east all recorded snowfall, while the rest of the country experienced cold temperatures, but escaped more snow. Christmas Day temperatures fell below minus 17C and forecasters warned Boxing Day travellers could face more "heavy and prolonged" snowfall.

Went home for xmas last yearto visit the folks who live 15m west of EDI and not only did it start snowing earl November it didnt stop till late January. My parents were both off work for weeks! Reckon you've got a good chance of seeing the white stuff. I remember hearing on the radio that my village was the coldest on record at -22c one evening and that was with 3/4 feet of snow on the ground. Needless to say we didnt go far.

Based on the last 15 years spent in Central Scotland at Hogmanay......I would say it's more unlikely than likely, but you never know! It will be cold and frosty for sure, but no guarantee on the picture perfect snow......

I would bet most likely. We have had lots of snow in the south in the last few years around Christmas time

Given the past couple of winters they have had in Edinburgh, I would say pretty likely. I am going home for Christmas and am hoping to see some snow, it's great as long as you don't have to work!!! Will need to look out the winter woollies as 2 Christmases ago, my DH wore a hat in bed as he was so cold (he had just arrived back from Dubai). Edinburgh is magical at Christmas, I hope you enjoy it.
