Sounds good, the skirt should be below the knee. And maybe change the blouse for another colour, nothing to dramatic the first day until you get a feel for the office dress code.
Generally I feel white, black and grey shades work. Not too tight fitting with no or little cleavage. Some bangles or necklace to brighten up your outfit.
Hi,
I am moving from Perth over to Dubai in a month to work in an office.
What shall I take to wear? black skirts to knee? long sleeve shirts? won't I melt on the way to work?
Is it true that is is best not to wear lime green or orange?
I think in my first day I will wear a black knee length skirt, black shirt and black wedges?
Thanks
Heather
What's with all the black?
And where did you read about not wearing lime green or orange? That said, I can't imagine too many work outfits that would look professional in those colors, but if you can pull it off, why not.
Obviously it depends on your work setting (public vs. private sector, finance vs. PR, etc.), but pretty much anything is acceptable similar to what you'd wear in the west...just use common sense - no sleeveless, nothing above the knee, no cleavage. Check with your company HR for the dress code policy.
I also don't think wedges are appropriate if they're showing toes, but I tend to err on the side of conservative and even in the west I wouldn't consider that professional, but I'm a bit old school.
