The Dubai baby and children's market scheduled for Sat has been cancelled due to lack of confirmed stallholders. I got an email.

Can't remember which toy shop it was - Toys R Us I think - has an outlet in Dubai Outlet Mall. They don't have a huge selection but their prices are great for gifts. There are other toy shops too but I found out the hard way that they were more expensive than the normal shops in Dubai Mall etc.

I think you have to be very thorough when trying to find toys here and definately compare prices/shop around alot. My daughter wanted the ELC dollhouse at 1100aed, I managed to find the exact same thing at Toys r us for 699aed! Fair enough the colour is a little paler, but it is exactly the same. I Think with the build up to Xmas its definately wise to check the supermarkets as sometimes you will find they get a whole lot more stock in before the big day. I have 3 kids to buy for plus one of them has a birthday 2 days before xmas and its pretty scary how much I end up paying when it comes to 'Dubai' prices :0(

Pass Meni Seyahi on your right and keep on this road as you go along you will see a modern red/brick coloured building on your right with a huge Friends and Family logo on the window about 2 floors up.(Behind the small shopping centre where Frankies is in JBR) Al fattan House 1st floor, Dubai, United Arab Emirates

I've picked up a few toys in Baby Shop, Geant and Carrefour that were quite cheap. Mostly just stoking fillers and a few doll bits for my daughter. NN- we have been searching for a wooden kitchen here too but have ended up buying the cottage kitchen in ELC. Paid 999dhs (I think) and recently saw it in the UK sale for £100. Quite annoying! We looked at the Ikea one too, but like you chose not to get it. It wasn't as cute as the ELC one.

Sorry to hijack this thread but has anyone been to dragon mart recently looking for toys? I am looking for a kitchen for my daughter and would like one of the wooden ones like they sell in the ELC but would rather not pay 1200aed for it. Has anyone seen one? I know that ikea do I but to be honest I didnt really like it? TIA Ive seen pink and purple kids kitchen in Dragonmart. Dont know how much it costs though. I also saw a wooden kitchen unit for kids at Ikea that costs dhs700 C4 had them for 70aed

Dubai baby and childrens market 26th November at Family and friend nursery in the Marina. New and preloved toys for sale. A lot of the vendors who were at the Expat woman fayre will also be there. We have bought lots of 2nd hand toys from there. Most in mint condition.

Kids are at the age where they would know !! I was hoping there was a warehouse or toy shop somewhere that hadn't come across yet ! Think it wll have to be Amazon and shop and ship as it still works out cheaper than here !

Dragonmart has loads of inexpensive toys. At the end of the day arent all toys made in China anyways?

If you think that nobody buys secondhand toys for their children as presents, I can assure you that they do. Toys are ridiculously expensive here and we have sold plenty to parents to use as Christmas presents. edited by amelia on 13/11/2011

Do you just want new toys, or would secondhand, good quality, in very good condition, be OK ? edited by amelia on 13/11/2011
