Any advice on a nice area to live?
Family of young baby wanting a community feel with nursery access.

Thinking Arabian ranches or Jumeirah beach. Torn as would like a villa but maybe the beach offers more to do eg beach social clubs and dining ect. Would rather live in a villa/house than apartment but maybe apartment safer? I read some villas have people knocking on the door a lot looking for work. I will be alone a lot so safety important too.

Are the running costs a lot higher in a villa ?

DH's place of work does not impact on location choice .
Any info greatly appreciated ....

I'd say for safety and more of a community feel for the kids def the ranches. Has everything there and easy access in and out. The villas are lovely there.

Hi 044327 Two very different areas. The ranches has a nice community feel, it has everything in terms of amenities: supermarket, coffee shop, restaurants, nurseries (although you need to put your little one's name down asap), golf club, gym in motor city which is just across the road, dry cleaners, polo and equestrian club where they also do some baby classes, etc... Provided that you will be driving the ranches is a lovely area and despite many think that it is out of the way, its actually very well connected and I can honestly say that it only takes me 20 mins to get to all the main areas of Dubai from the AR. the majority of people living in the ranches are young families so you will defo get to meet other mothers and babies. Jumeirah is also a nice area, with many shopping malls, supermarkets and schools which makes it handy for when you baby will need to attend. Of course with the beach so close by you 'll be able to get there in a second! If you opt for the umm Suqueim side you'll probably get away without having to drive. Im not sure how much of a community feel you'll get as I haven't lived on that side of Dubai. Ps: in terms of safety the ranches are very safe, I never heard of anyone being broken into and each cluster has their own security guards who work 24/7. Hope this helps Good luck with the search
