can any expat with young kids here in Dubai and who has gone through the will making process tell me what kind of options are available as far as taking care of your child should something happen to parents? I know it's good to have a will to take care of financial issues but I think the biggest issue for all of us expats would be what would happen to our kids (under 18) should something happen to us.
I know it's a morbid thought and I promise I'm mostly a 'glass half full' type person, but what if? and what kind of arrangements can be put in place with a will? and how quickly would the arrangements be implemented?
ps - and by arrangements I mean short term, until your long term plans can be implemented.

Hi, we used the Will Specialists - Nita Maru. Our will here deals specifically with any assets we have here and the guardianship of our children if anything should happen (otherwise the courts can take custody here). We have named 2 temporary guardians who are based in Dubai who will look after the children until the permamnet named guardians arrive in Duabi to take over. Be careful as the wills have to be attested by your embassy here so you need to use one of the companys approved by them

We used James Berry to draw up an interim guardianship document, this ensures the kids are looked after by our nominated guardian rather than polide custody etc, until such time the permanent guardian can arrive here. Do you know what the cost of this was? Also, did James Berry just draw up a guardianship doc or did they insist on doing an entire will? TIA
