Our trampoline from C4 lasted 3 summers before we had to have pads replaced, frame was completely sturdy.

I am a qualified trampoline coach and have over the years heard some horror stories of the cheap Chinese imports. The welding has been known to crack and legs come through the bed (as you can imagine this could cause horrific injuries) If you have the option of buying a European, US product then this is adviseable. Most injuries are caused when more than one child jumps together, I have even seen a neighbours childs tooth embedded in another childs head!! Circular trampolines by the laws of physics will bounce everything to the centre. I don't mean to sound boring, trampolining is such great exercise and fun when done safely - by the way ladies it is one of the best ways of getting rid of cellulite as the bouncing activates the lymphatic system. 10 mins on a trampoline is equivalent to a 25 minute jog, without the impact on the joints!!!

We've had our ELC trampoline for 5 years now and it's still going strong, although we have had to replace the net and base twice in that time. The best thing we ever bought for our children - they love it and spend a lot of time on it with their friends. Will likely buy the larger one next year as they're getting too big for the one we have now!

I will see it as an investment and can always take it back to England when we leave. Another point is that the spare part are very cheap and can be delivered to Dubai. ... Has she left it outside in the UAE though? I haven't yet seen a trampoline that's outlasted more than a couple of summers there. On taking it back to the UK, it's wise to research any quarantine issues. On returning to Aus we were told to leave our behind as the quarantine here is so strict it's cheaper and less hassle just to get a new trampoline.

Sadubai how are you doing with the trampoline search? I also didn't like the c4 one! I didn't like the one at intersport as well :-( it was better than c4 but still looks rubbish. If you can be bothered remove the netting, springs and 'bouncy bit' just before summer to prolong the life of the trampoline. Our children used the trampoline all through the summer. :D Ten min of bouncing, in for water then back out there again. It was the best money we ever spent on entertainment for the little ones! Friends had a spare room in the villa set up as a play room. They bought a trampoline small enough to fit in the room (maybe 6ft) and used to bring it indoors and set up on those big rubber mats for the summer. <em>edited by Green-ish on 21/12/2011</em>

I couldn't leave the house today, baby kept on being hungry, then poo, then sleepy, then ...Food all over her clothes, then not wanting to get changed...so I gave up and will try tomorrow. So you didn't like the one in carrefour? My friend had one from intersport and it looks good. If the one is c4 are the same then it should be ok as another person suggested they come from the same company. The ELC one looks great on the catalogue.

Birchy, thanks. I am off to Carrefour for a trampoline too! And NewHannah I like the look of the UK one but I also find it very expensive. Esp when I consider that my son will prob use it until the summer then by the time it is trampoline weather next year we will no doubt have to go one size up. I agree with Greensh - regular checks and some simple rules are the best safety precautions...

Try carrefour they have really good trampolines, I have purchased 2 from them in the last year, they deliver the next day and if I recall correctly they deliver free. ETA the trampolines are the same as in intersport and sun and sand, the driver had bills from both with delivery notes. <em>edited by Birchy on 20/12/2011</em>

I also find the price crazy. The trampoline itself is not too expensive but the delivery charge makes it too much :-( I have never had a trampoline so have no experience at all. I am open to any advice from experienced users ;-) I think I might go for the intersport 10ft or the elc 12ft. I will check today if they have them in stock

I guess I don't know the price of trampolines in the UK, but excellent quality trampolines with very good warranty can be had for half that price In Australia. (I find there hexagonal shape safety claims a bit far fetched too!!) We had a trampoline in Dubai, purchased from TRU. The pads lasted almost two summers and were not expensive to replace. It takes five minutes every month or so to check the frame, mat, pads & surrounds to make sure all is safe and strong. Equipment aside, the only way to keep small children safe on a trampoline is a one-at-a-time rule and close supervision.

Sadubai, I am also searching Dubai for a trampoline. I am completely lost as I received so many different advices. Spingfree from the Toy shop are very expensive and only have 6months warranty. ELC, intersport, geant...all sell trampolines but apparently get damaged very easily in Dubai's weather... One of my friend bought a trampoline from the Uk 6 years ago and never had an issue as the quality is very good (thickness of the padding, life warranty on the frame...) She advices me to get this trampoline: http://www.jumpforfun.co.uk/12ft-octajump-with-enclosure.htm The description confirms what she told me: The OctaJump range are ideal for children who want the extra bounce on the Coolest octagonal trampoline. The ideal trampoline for safety conscious parents. Round trampolines are great for one person as they pull the jumper back into the middle. This can cause a problem when two or more want fun at the same time as they can be pulled in together and collide and cause injuries, this is the most common problem with round trampolines. Due to the design of the Octajump this is far less likely to happen and jumpers also have more control. Its Unique shape allows for a larger trampoline to be used, superior performance with added safety features. But on PROBLEM: the [b'>PRICE[/b'> to get it delivered to Dubai within 5 days. I was a regular at Dragonmart, used to recommend it often and bought lots there...mostly soft furnishings and non-safety-issue toys etc. Then someone reminded me of the human rights issues in China and what lies behind all of those 'cheap' products. Very likely safety issues aside (think lead paint on baby toys and melamine in baby formula) I could not spend another dirham there on anything. :(

I've bought loads of things from there - from flower clips and sheylas to lampshades and wallpaper. I wouldn't buy something that requires safety guidelines though.
