Try lots of classes and different instructors until you find one who suits you. I've been to many places in Dubai where the instructors don't so much instruct as do yoga in front of you. For a beginner, this can be terribly frustrating because you aren't really getting information about correct alignment, breath-work etc. I had one instructor who was so quiet that nobody in the class had any idea what we were supposed to be doing. A bunch of the ladies got the giggles and our 'teacher' actually became very angry with us and ended the class! There is a teacher at the Dubai Ladies Club named Marcelline who I think is quite good at teaching you how to do the postures in good alignment.

Zen yoga has a wonderful hatha yoga class on Sunday and Tuesday mornings. I started to feel the difference in my strength and flexibility a couple of months after joining. And generally I feel great after each class. Enjoy;)

Hi Eva, sorry I don't really have an answer for you. but am considering starting hathya yoga myself at Zen yoga in Media city. Don't suppose you go there, do you? if so maybe you'd feel better with someone else that doesn't have a clue?!

I have just started Hatha yoga classes. I enjoyed it but I seemed kind of hopeless compared to everybody else :). You girls have any experience how long it takes before you can notice the difference. How often would you advise to go to make any progress? Do you notice a real difference in your body's strength and appearance? Where are you following classes?
