Hello I was wondering if you could tell me who you directly dealt with at Adnic I to high risk and in of need insurance ASAP. Also for you and your husband did you to go through tests first? Thanks ever so much for your help and congrats on pregnancy!! Hi Dxbmum When I first called ADNIC on their toll free number, I spoke to a girl named Vina and she handled my case end to end. Whenever I had any queriesm I'd just call and ask for her again. They didn't put us through any tests however I explained my condition on phone and declared it in detail in the application form as well...things like my medical history, current complications etc. Let me know if you need further info. edited by cp80 on 14/01/2012

I would just like to update that I went ahead and bought the ADNIC insurance for AED 32,000; for both my husband and myself. I plan to register to Al Wasl for the antenatal package as I have been advised my gyne to do that - as a backup for an emergency, unforseen, unfortunate extreme premature delivery. Al Wasl charges which is AED 5000 wouldn't be covered by ADNIC, as ADNIC claims they don't reimburse pacakges. Hence will have to shell that amount from pocket. Am quitting my job at the end of this month to stay home, and rest as much as I can. Sorry for the rant but really hoping this will be all worth it and my bubs will arrive safely at the correct time.

Sorry, I should clarify that ADNIC did not pay for optional things such as the 4D scan and one other scan (which is not routine). They also don't pay for epidurals as this is not considered a necessity (by them) in regular deliveries. I was told by my doctor that most insurance companies don't cover the cost of an epidural. Thanks M for that info. I may not go for 4D if its not covered (its an optional exam correct?). Am a candidate for repeat c-section as I had my last surgery just over an year ago. ADNIC told me they don't cover elective c-section, however, if there is adequate justification from the doctor for any process/surgery, then they would cover it. Am hoping my doctor will be able to justify c-section, hence it will be covered. I also asked them whether there is any cap on number of consultations per month; and they said no. Since mine is high risk, I may be visting the OB once a week. Am just hoping i will have a smooth sailing with ADNIC after having paid their bumper premium amount.

I took out ADNIC maternity cover when I was three months pregnant as my work did not offer maternity. ADNIC paid for everything and the co-payment I think was about 30 dirhams per visit. My medical bills during the delivery were high as I had a few complications and I would have been out of pocket by a lot had I not taken the insurance. Also, with ADNIC, they cover any complications your baby may have up to the moment of discharge from hospital. Once you are discharged though, the cover stops for the baby and you have to arrange insurance for your baby - I would advise you to have your baby checked out thoroughly and arrange to have any necessary treatment before you leave the hospital. I think ADNIC charge an additional 2K to put your baby on your policy but you may be able to put your baby under your husband's cover. I'm glad to hear ADNIC took care of all the expenses. This is what I was waiting to hear. Am also planning to put my babies on my husband's cover once they are discharged from the hospital. Thanks for the tip.

It must be because your pregnancy is "high risk" as DH and I were quoted around 23,000dhs for our maternity cover from ADNIC. His work was covering us and then maternity cover mysteriously disappeared off of our policy! Leaving us scrambling for cover at the last minute. ARGH! Hi Coffegal, to be precise my cover is about 27000, and my husband's over 4000, total amounting close to AED 32,000. I was told by their rep this premium is based on the age slab.

I've just been on the phone with ADNIC and they told me that although there is no waiting period, they would not cover me if I was already pregnant - doesn't match up with what I've read on other ADNIC threads, so not sure if they've changed their policy or rep told me the wrong info on the phone. Hope you get sorted out! :)

I plan to quit my job in the fourth month of my high-risk pregnancy and as a result will be losing my maternity cover. My husband does have a family insurance, which unfortunately does not have maternity coverage. From my research I found out ADNIC is one company that provides maternity cover with zero wiating period however for a price of a huge premium! The total premium for me and my husband (they only give it for family) it amounting to a whopping AED 32,000! Yet I plan to go for it as I don't see another option; from my past expereince, am scared to go back to my home country for delivery and would like to stay here and do everything to make sure my babies come to me healthy. If there's anyone who has taken this particular cover from ADNIC or has friends who has, I would like to chat with them. Regards
