Thank you so much for your replies. I have booked an appointment with Dr. George for my NT Scan on the 24th of February (13th week, no free appointment before that). I was also told that he has his own patients (delivering) as well so I'll speak with him for that as well. One question regarding City hospital: Do you have a antenatal package? I am looking at the antenatal package but they told me that it includes only 2 ultrasounds (to see the baby) and If you need more you need to pay extra. Is this the case or the nurce did not know what she was talking about. It sounds very strange to get only 2 ultrasounds. Back home you get an ultrasound each month you visit your doctor. This is the way the doctor makes sure that the baby is ok and growing. As for belly showing, I'm also showing since week 7. It is so nice most of the time but it is not funny when I realise my own clothes do not fit me and I look awful in them. Have already started wearing pregnancy collant, as I feel comfortable only in them. I dont know about the packages either but I do know that in the UK you only get a scan at 20 weeks and one other I believe. It is not necessary to have scans all the time. the only reason we all have so many is because we can as it is paid for by our insurance. Sorry, that is not much help im afraid

I conceived through IVF so I was with my IVF clinic till 11 weeks and was then handed over. I've had one routine scan at city and the second one was my NT scan. I'm hoping that at my feb appt I'll have another scan, don't want to miss any opportunity to see the lil bean :) sorry I'm not of too much help! edited by Dipz20 on 11/02/2014

Being a ftm after a lot of struggle I'm just overly excited about everything..:) thankfully I'm comfortable sleeping on sides and prefer sleeping tht way so I hope it'll not be much of a problem later on when the bump starts growing. Anyone considering prenatal yoga? I'm planning to start one with zen yoga any feedback on them will be highly appreciated Xx edited by Dipz20 on 11/02/2014

NP - I too paid AED 1550 ( NT scan and blood work). I'm with Dr Elsa at city hospital and highly recommend her but she has a long waiting list. mumofmoo. - I totally agree with u! I feel like a fool for wasting my time and trying out the tests. Waiting for my 20 week scan now.. Dont feel like a fool - it is fun to try all the old woves tales etc and see what they say. At the end of the day, its not long to wait and its either a boy or a girl so no big surprise haha

I have been showing since week 7 - same with my first baby. Trust me, its very nice to not show, still wear normal clothes and be able to see your feet - the time will come when you will wish for the bump to go away as it will get in your way all the time ;-) Enjoy being able to sleep on your tummy or you side without having a bump getting i the way x

NP - I paid AED 1550 for the scan (4d) and bloods etc with Dr George at Genesis clinic. I see Dr Britt Clausson at City hospital and she delivered my girl 10 months ago so seemed logical to see her again DIPZ20 - The old wives tales are such rubbish. My pregnancy with my girl was flawless, easy, I wasnt fat, I didnt have bad skin etc. Did all the silly gender tests and all said boy except 2 and she is most definantely not a boy ;-) Im pretty sure I am carrying aboy now, and my skin is not great and im really windy lol. Nice huh! Hope you are all feeling good x

Hello to all future mommys.. Dipz20 & mumofmoo_ Thanks so much for your replies. I'm also concidering Fetal Medicine Center for my NT Scan and for my future 2 important ultrasounds, so it's good to know that you have already tried it and you recommend it. I'll also look into Dr George now that you mentioned him...more so because he is Greek as I am!!! Also can you please tell me the cost of the NT Scan (including PAPP-A test or not??) in both your cases? But I still need to find a doctor for my reqular visits and for my delivery of course. I have already called several times and have not been able to find the appropriate person to talk to, so tomorrow I'm gonna go by MEDICENTER and MEDICARE to ask some questions face to face and to finally decide. Any recommendations for these 2 clinics?? good...bad...doctors? edited by NP on 08/02/2014

Thanks ladies...reading here just woke me up! I have arranged a scan with my gynae for next weekend. I just gave a second thought for the due date. Second pregnancy is taking toll, battling nausea, keeping a hyperactive 22 months old entertained and gas problems..:)

reading the posts here had me wondered when i am due?? I have completed 13 weeks and according to doc its 22 aug. which i doubt now. :) have to calculate on my own or make a visit soon to my previous gynae who has finally returned from holidays. i am hoping for a girl too and have my fingers crossed for another few weeks. has anyone used the gender test kit which is available now a days...i am desperate to try one to ease my mind :) Your dates are wrong also you should have had your NT scan by now and what they tell you as your due date is the one you should be using, not something you calculate yourself As for finding out the ***, even the pros can make mistakes so early, would be horrible to think you are having a girl to find out later it is not. Just be paient and wait a little while longer Hi Angel joy, I agree with mumofmoo. Please check your dates, I'm exactly 13w 5 days preggy as of today and my due date is 10th aug ( which was confirmed at my NT scan done at 12w). I did try the baking soda gender prediction at home twice(once using fmp and secondly during the afternoon) both the times it showed me the result as girl also I'm having most of the old wives tales symptoms of having a girl from sweet cravings to acne but during the NT scan my Dr said 70% looks like a boy!!. I'm waiting for my 20 week scan to know for sure. I haven't tried the intelligender as I'm on progesterone suppositories but there are mixed reviews about it as well. So I guess it's best to wait for your 20 week scan to be sure. Xx edited by Dipz20 on 06/02/2014

I think it is the size of the head in correlation to the rest of the body. Im not an expert so I do not know Just wait for a while and see what the profesisonals say! be patient woman, you have MONTHS to go yet so no need to know right now, enjoy the unknown for a while!

Thank for the info mumofmoo. I ll just go with the flow and see how things progress. Don't want to stress with all these things now. Had my NT scan last week and the Dr said 70% looks like a boy. Isn't it too early for him to know the gender as at 12 weeks it looks the same for both boy Nd girl. We were hoping for a girl but now are thrilled that we might be having a boy. How accurate is this? edited by Dipz20 on 04/02/2014 They look similar but if the boy has developed early then there is not much mistaking that it is a boy, plus the size of the head is usually different. I wouldt go buying blue things yet, wait until your next scan, but chance are it will be a boy They look similar but if the boy has developed early then there is not much mistaking that it is a boy, plus the size of the head is usually different. Any idea if that means a boy?

Thanks mumofmoo! I've decided to stick with Dr. E and see how things goes coz at this point I don't want to change Drs. At my feb appt I'll share my concerns with her about Dr Deb and ask her if she can refer me to Dr Britt instead. After my NT scan my EDD has changed to 10th Aug from 7th. So keeping my fingers crossed that I hit 40th weeks and Dr. Elsa will be there for the delivery Xx edited by Dipz20 on 04/02/2014 I am due on the 7th too. You dont need a referral to change docs, just makre an appointment and go and see who makes you happy! Britt is on holiday from 15th August too FYI im sure you will hit 40 weeks no problem so dont worry, if Elsa is away then Britt will probably cover anyway, and all the midwives etc do most the stuff anyhow, it will all be fine, no need to be stressing about these things :-)

Hello mommies to be, congratulations to all of you!! nice to see the thread being active. I'm 13 weeks 1 day pregnant as of today and due on 10th aug and this is my first pregnancy. Thankfully it's been a smooth sail for me till now...:):) NP - I had my NT scan last week at fetal medicine center in health care city. My Dr was Dr. Ulrich and he was really good. The entire process including scan, blood work and counseling took about 1.5 hrs and they were very professional. The other place you can look into is genesis with Dr George, I have heard very good reviews about him but unfortunately he was fully booked for the dates I wanted. Do let me me know if you want more info. Joosie - I'm also at city hospital but with Dr Elsa. Don't know about Dr. Britt but till now my experience with the hospital has been fantastic. They have the best NICU facilities which is the most imp thing for me. Angel joy - hope you feel better soon.. Xx edited by Dipz20 on 03/02/2014

Hello to all mommies. I'm due late August and it is my first baby. I feel so lost as to which doctor to choose and/or which hospital/clinic. My insurance is not covering unfortunately and I'm looking for antenatal packages in different clinics. I must have the NT Scan in 15 days and I still have not decided. Also I cannot seem to be able to find the correct person to talk to to any of the clinics regarding their antenatal packages as I have questions and need specifications...i.e. do I get a scan to see the baby in every consultation and is this included in the package??? I hope I sort these things out soon!!!
