hey to you all!! My baby girl arrived on the 25th of August at 10.14. My water broke at 01.30, arrived at the hospital at 2.30, contractions started about an hour later and at 8cm the baby was still high and too big for me, plus the umbilical cord was wrapped around baby's neck so it could not come out the natural way, so we had to do a c-section. 1st time mum and excited for my little princess!!!! Congratulations NP! Enjoy these precious moments with your doll

dub27 I gave birth at Al Zahra with Dr. Yamini. I cannot recommend her highly enough. She is very good, calm, patient and pro natural. Eventhough I had a c-section, I was not forced to it and waited until the very last moment to see if I could deliver naturally.

Hi all, Congratulations!!! I am also FTM and new as well in Dubai, so right now looking and searching everywhere for the best Hospital to deliver in ,same as the best OBGYN that does pro natural! I've read good things about AL Zahra , any recent feedback on this? do they respect your birth plan? also Dr YAmini is pro natural? Right now I am assisting to Dr Ibrahim Elrahman at City Hospital and he seems good but no idea is he's pro natural birth? I would like to visit more than one Dr before I make my mind.. I am really scared ....Many thanks in advanced

I am in toronto for delivery and here not even once ultrasound has been done.i dont know how big or small is my girl. I keep on asking doctor but they dont give a clear answer just says everything is fine. I am hoping for smooth vbac as last time with induction i didn't dilated at all and after13 hrs emergency c-section. So i am kind of scared that this time also after hrs and hrs i will end with c :( i am due on 19 aug.

Ah thanks for clarifying. Agree with you it's a bit weird to dress in clothes first though anyway. Congratulations again!

Hi CG9, Congratulations on your new arrival :-) I'm due to deliver at City in August also. Your experience of the nurses wanting to dress your baby straight after birth does worry me. I've always been told that skin to skin contact straight after birth is very important as it produces hormones that help with breast feeding. I would have thought that this was standard practice. Guess I need to be prepared to be firm about what I want! Also good luck to everyone for their upcoming deliveries and sympathies to those suffering in the heat. I'm finding the last few weeks tough! Hi, Sorry for not being clear. The nurses insist on skin to skin and you are allowed to hold the baby for as long as you like so don't worry about it. The clothes thing happened after skin to skin when he was taken for his evaluation and measurements. Xx

Hi ladies Congratulation all I am new mom expecting twins boy and girl. My EDD is end of August unless they want to come out earlier) Pls Anybody got experience or info about city hospital? We had a tour few weeks ago and look very busy . Thanks Hi, I delivered at city last week. Overall experience was good. Dr - fantastic, before/ after care - fantastic, admission/ discharge - super easy. Things which disturbed me were when my baby was born the nurses asked us to handover clothes to dress him, they did not even wrap him! I'm not sure if this is the norm or it just happened to me. The least I Expected was to wrap him in something immediately after birth. Secondly, my baby was a Premie, born at 36wk+3days at discharge his jaundice levels were under control but 48hr hrs later after taking all Precautions it shot up to high risk and was hospitalized for 2 nights. I fell they should have been more cautious in handling a tiny baby and given him few hrs of phototherapy right away even if the levels were low. It was quite stressful running back and forth to the hospital!. Please feel free to ask me any info required. P.s - I'm a ftm too.. Xx edited by CG9 on 24/07/2014 Congratulation and thank u so much for the info dear . i hope you baby is doing great. :) XX

Thank you Ladies..:) Yes Daquiri, I was on epidural and I'm so glad I had it. I must say you are in safe hands with Dr Elsa my second stage of labour was very long but Dr Elsa kept on reassuring me that I can do it and have a normal delivery. She was extremely patient and positive. I was 4cms dilated and did not progress at all till late afternoon and then by 6pm was 6cms but frm 6cms to 10cms happened like magic with Dr. Elsa's guidance and help and then it was just a matter of 14 mins before I held my lil boy. I wish you the very best and hope you have a safe and smooth delivery. Xx Wow, that all sounds great, glad you got your natural birth and all went well. Good to hear Dr. Elsa was patient and positive about it all with you. Enjoy the rest of your summer with bubs xx

Hi Ladies, I was due to deliver on aug 10th but Bubs had other plans and I delivered 3 days ago! I was induced on 16th morn, 12 hr of labour and after 14 mins of pushing delivered my lil dude at 8.43pm. Dr Elsa did my delivery and if it were not for her I would have defo ended with a c-sec. She is just amazing, guided me perfectly and gave me the delivery I wanted. Baby is doing well and slowly adjusting. So in love with him:) I wish you all the very best and waiting to hear the good news from you all. Xx A big Congratulations to you! Great news :-) I also have Dr. Elsa so it's great to hear a positive story like this - 14 mins pushing sounds brilliant! Did you have an Epidural with Dr. Elsa? Enjoy your baby time :-)

Hello!!! Angel Joy_ I even feel that walking in the house. So exhausted...no energy...back and legs hurt a lot...bump is huge...washroom trips almost every hour. I'm due at the end of August but really think that the baby will come out a lot earlier as I can feel her pushing down already. I just hope she stays in till the first week of August and after that she can come out and play!!!! At my last appointment, Dr. was concerned as I have a lot of amniotic fluid and she is afraid of high glucoze. So I'm on a diet and measuring my glucoze 4 times a day. So far the measurements are more than good, sometimes too low!!, so don't think I have a problem but will definitely keep measuring. Diet...I have never had diet in my life and having now is so stranga. I have gained 11 kg so far and the last month I had lost 1 kilo (before the diet started) propably because of too much vomiting. My friends make fun of me that I'm gonna lose all 11 kilos before I give birth!!! Also, my baby is kind of big. Last measurement was at 33w and she measured as if she was 36w. Weighting approximately 2350. And since I'm pretty petite, Dr. is also a bit concerned about that as she says that if I go all the way till the end of August she will have reached 4 kg. To be honest, I'm not concerned about this at all as I'm thinking that a lot of petite women have big babies naturally with no problem. At least I'll try and if we see that It's not possible then we will consider other options (hopefully not!!!). Hope all you girls are great and enjoying the last few weeks!!!!

Josie - Back home we have the Doppler scan at 32w but here it is up to the doctor to deside if needed. I visited my doctor yesterday(30w+4d) and she did not mention anything about Doppler Scan. CG9 - is everything fine with your little one now? How are you all doing? I am having huge heartburns, nausea, belly pains and cannot walk for more than 10 minutes without feeling that the baby is pushing hard to come out!!! Still 2 months to go and I really can't wait!!!! Hi NP, The dilatation is still there but the bright side is, it has not increased much since the anomaly scan and is still mild. He'll have an ultrasound immediately aftet birth to monitor it. I'm almost done with shopping and thankfully still feeling quite energetic. Have heartburn once in a while but it's not severe. Hope you feel better soon...xx edited by CG9 on 23/06/2014

Good morning Mommies! I just wanted to know if there are any big scans, other than the quick look the OB/GYN does, after 30 weeks? I feel a bit out of bounce with my little one. Thank you. Hi Jossie, Not sure if it's a routine but I had a Doppler scan at 31wk. My LO was diagnosed with mild renal pelvis dilatation at the 20wk scan so perhaps this is why my Dr asked me to get the Doppler scan done at 31 wk. Xx
