Can anyone reccommend the best shops for buying fashionable maternity clothes and also the mall that has the most maternity shops? How many of you order online and is it a better option for choices?

I live near Ibn Battuta and could only find maternity clothes at H&M and while the jeans look okay, most of the tops look like sacks and there isn't that much choice of colors or styles.

LUKALULA is your best option to go for maternity dresses. Although they ship worldwide as well. Thanks !!!

Jennyrose (MOE), Destination Maternity (Dubai Mall & Mirdiff) and Blush and Bloom (Dubai Mall). Just noticed that this post states Blush and Bloom is in Dubai Mall. Just thought I'd point out it's actually only an online store, (still based in Dubai though), in case anyone was walking around Dubai Mall looking for it. It's a huge mall after all!

Thanks for the info Jenna. I went to New Look today and got two really cute dresses for around 100dhs each, a pair of black leggings for 20dhs and a tank top for 15dhs. Very happy!

New Look at Ibn Battuta!! I went last week and all of their summer maternity stuff is on sale, I bought 3 maternity floral dresses in a size 12, they were 55 Dhs each, such a bargain. They also had rails and rails of maternity vests in all colours. thank you very much.. loks like there is a trip to ibn battuta on weekend :)

Personally I had a bad experience with on-line shopping, the quality was good but not having any idea on how to choose the sizes, when I received my order the clothes were too big and, much worse, the fabrics were too heavy for the Summer here. The classic pré-maman shops are sometimes too boring and expensive for my idea of maternal wear, so I ended up not buying anything specific for pregnancy. I browsed the clothes sections at Géant and Carrefour MoE buying L or XL pijama style or harem style trousers in cotton, long shirts and tops, high waisted dresses, etc. I put on 20 kg (last time I checked, then I stopped, saying that I cannot see the scales monitor any more) but people keep telling me I look great (even if I don't feel great) and they do not believe I gained so much, so I assume my choice was good. This way I saved money and had a wider selection for models, patterns and colours. I will keep on using the clothes until I get back to my original weight. Only thing is that is some cases I fold downwards the waist of the trousers because I can't stand feeling it on my skin. What I would never give up are my FitFlops shoes, I don't know how I would have survived without them.

It drove me up the wall :(. Do you have Shop 'n Ship? I know the UK stores might not have summer stock any more but it might be worth a look if they have any sale stuff left over. Or maybe some of the US stores? I think Destination Maternity in the US is way cheaper than over here. You're five months and you only gained 2kgs? Well, I was going to suggest some UK sites, but I might reconsider now out of jealousy... :D. I found lots of maternity vest tops and shorts on New Look's website and John Lewis have a range called Crave that had some nice shorts too. Red Herring at Debenhams do a small range, and there are sites such as Blooming Marvellous and JoJo Maman Bebe. And, of course, there's good old eBay! PS Poor DH? He's got man flu, he's not pregnant and looking at four months walking around in a bin bag. Get the violins out for him :D. edited by DubaiCat on 30/10/2011

So I had my poor DH, who was sick with a cold/flu, drive me out to the Dubai Outlet Mall on the weekend so that I could buy some maternity clothes from the Mamas & Papas there. I was hoping to find some of their summer stock. I only managed to get one pair of pants and one pair of tights. ARGH! Almost everything in the store was a size 18! I'm a UK size 10 and could hardly find anything. Be warned not to bother going there if you are a smaller size. So today I went to Marina Mall to check out the Mamas and Papas there. Guess what, they don't carry maternity clothes at that location - grrr. So off I go to the H&M thinking surely they will have some maternity items - nope. Aren't there a lot of moms to be in Marina and JBR? I would have thought there would be a market for a maternity clothes shop there. I guess now I have to muster the energy for a trip to MOE. I'm getting really frustrated trying to find maternity clothes.

check Mothercare in Dubai Mall- they have a good range of clothes and they are not boring stripe/ugly flowers type. You might also check Next, they also have maternity section. As for tops, when I was preggy I just got maternity pants & shorts, but for the tops I just found floating or bigger size t-shirts & blouses to be more comfortable for me.

Coffeegal, try also in Mamas and Papas. When I was buying maternity clothes months ago I realised they are more expensive than my regular clothes. Bought most of my maternity tops and dresses in Mamas and Papas. For the maternity jeans/trousers and shorts bougt mine in Jennyrose (MOE), they are not so cheap but very comfy.

Oh and I forgot to add that one of the tops I tried on was 825AED! Are they serious?! It wasn't even that nice and wasn't made of cashmere or silk which could justify such a pricetag.

I went to Dubai Mall today and visited Destination Maternity. All of their stock is for the winter, but I'm talking a REAL winter, not Dubai winter. How annoying! They only had 2 pairs of shorts left, the rest had been taken off the shelves and everything was brown, black or grey *dislike*. On top of all of that I nearly started crying in the changing room because I feel like I look 7-8 months pregnant and I'm only 5 months. Also I just want to cringe at the sight of my arms. They look like they belong on someone else's body, I just don't recognize them. They look flabby. Oh the pregnancy hormones are raging today! I haven't had any mood swings towards DH but I've been struggling a lot with my body changes. I just feel FAT and not pregnant. So far I've gained around 4 pounds which is about 2kgs so not a huge amount which is why I can't understand how my stomach is sticking out so far! I seem to be carrying this new pregnancy weight and shape all over my middle instead of directly infront which just makes me feel blah. On the brightside I had the strangest dream last night about giving birth and it was quick and painless. Let's hope that bodes well for the real day.

I hate Dubai Mall with a passion but all the maternity stores are in the same area, so you don't have to go that far. Now, if you could just work out the best place to park and actually find it, it wouldn't be so bad!

I went to asos website and it looks like they have some really nice things so I'll place and order and see how I go. Also will gather the strength to wander Dubai Mall - it's just SO BIG! I get tired even thinking about going there.

And you always looked ridiculously stylish while you were pregnant (and I was rocking the exhausted slug look) so I think the OP should go with asos.com :D. Hahahahahaha - you crack me up DC :D But thanks for the compliment ;)

I lived in ASOS maternity dresses! Free worldwide delivery and 3-7 days delivery! Some nice bargains in the sale section and they sell a range of designers including their own brand! My go-to-online shop for anything clothing/shoes/accessory related :) If you are not into online shopping, then Destination Maternity, Topshop Maternity & H&M are just as good! I found a few tops/tunic/shirts that I liked and found comfy and then bought fabric and had a few more tailored. Worked out much cheaper :) Dorothy perkins, Debenhams (Red Herring) & Peacocks in Ibn Battuta used to have a small section but think that Dubai Mall might be your best bet

Top Shop at Ibn Battuta used to do Maternity and I found their jeans to be super comfy and they had stuff that was a little more colourful.

If the weather ever cools down enough to wear jeans, I found H&M to be the most comfortable by a mile. I had every pair going, from cheap to COH/7s, and none of the others measured up to the H&M ones in the comfort stakes. Another EW poster ordered loads from asos.com - that might be your best bet.

My favourite shop was Destination Maternity in Dubai Mall / Mirdif City Center. I also bought quite a lot online or purchased in Europe when I was back home.
