Has anyone given birth at city hospital recently?
How was it? Did they have any problems?
What doctor did they use? Would they go there again?
Any idea on the cost of the birth with no insurance? After care and epidorial?
Thanks

NAAZ just a quick question, do u have to purchase a health card for the entire family or can u just get one for the babies for vaccination purposes alone? No. the card is just for the baby ... I made my baby's card at Latifa hospital ... u require 1 baby's photograph, baby's passport copy and the residence visa page, tenancy contract or dewa bill statement and 110 aed .... thats all !!!

Dr Azizunissa saved my life and also delivered my preemie baby I highly recommend her! Thanks Sami for the Reply. I will try to book with her and let me see. Is she pro natural delivery? I am afraid that doctors here will just go and opted to give u c-section for the money. Tell me more about your experience with her? Thanks Sami

Loved city hospital, had both sons there. Dr Elsa fab. Midwife I had at birth of DS2 is a beautiful caring lady. Aftercare midwives also lovely. Never had any problems either time.

I delivered at the city around 3 months back with Dr. Elsa ( from the UK) .... she is simply the best .... I was mighty close to a C-section ... she made natural birth possible !!! The doctor is brilliant and the midwives at the labour ward are very caring and helping ... my midwife even massaged my back to bring some relief to my excruciating back pain during labor .... Completely love them all ... would def go back to Dr. Elsa and the city hospital. Completely agree. I had my twins there 6 months ago with Dr Elsa. Fabulous care both pre and post delivery.

Had my baby at City with Dr. Elsa; she is amazing, did a great job with my C-section (about 10 cm scar, healed up quickly and looks great). After care was great, spent 4 days there; I had an epidural (thank God for the person who invented the epidural) as well as I was thinking it will be a natural birth but things changed in minutes; it went very well although I had some back discomfort if I spent a couple of more minutes bending, but now is gone. As for the maternity leave 45 days, in my opinion is not enough and I could not leave my baby with a nanny...nursery at that age was out of the question. Try taking a couple of months unpaid leave.

I’m due first week of September, like I said I can’t decided if I want to stay here or go home for the birth, I did have health insurance with my old company but the sacked me when I told them I was pregnant so I lost it, I’m working again now but not really loving my job so I might not return (probably not) this is my 2nd baby I’ve got a little girl who is 18 months old (very cheeky little monkey) I’ve just started freaking out about having 2 kids to look after and how am I going to cope?? Many sleepless nights worrying about it!!! I had Mia in med care and didn’t have any complaints really, but its go so so busy in there you can never get an appointment and since I’ve had to start paying for everything I’ve noticed how much the overdo the appointments, tests etc, I’m friends recommended using health bay poly clinic then delivering at city hospital so I’m going to see the mid wife on Saturday. Will you return to work after the baby? How do you feel about only having 45 days off work? Will u get a nanny?

No problem :) I am due in January and yes, its my first baby - am going to have all of my appointments with Dr. Britt at City - I really liked her. She made me feel very comfortable, didn't rush me and answered all of my questions. City seem to have great reviews on here, and my friend had her baby there and highly recommended them. I think American Hospital also are good. I do work, but my medical does not cover maternity for the first year - that will be August so we are paying for most things on our own. What about you? First pregnancy? Are you working out here?

I delivered at City last week.. And it was perfect from start to finish.. Dr Elsa was my doctor.. And she is really good at what she does. Yes, she is super busy but she does make time for her patients.. And she was great with me! I had a normal delivery with minimal stitches.. The service before, during and after delivery was great too.. Everyone was really attentive and caring.. Overall, a big thumbs up for City Hospital!

I gave birth at City Hospital recently. My doctor was Britt Clausson, she is amazing!! she delivered my big baby naturally with only a few stitches:)))) For me, it was mostly a hit and miss with the hospital. My delivery was really good, I was very well taken care of, but the aftercare was not..however, other people have had wonderful experiences from A to Z. to be honest, i think it depends on your luck! edited by Proudmama012 on 13/06/2012
