if the flight is full then there will not be a spare seat to use the seat on the plane anyway, unless someone no-shows. The plane isn't really the issue though is it, you'll need a carseat to get to the airport and a carseat to get from the airport to wherever you stay in istanbul, and then again when you arrive home, so even if you use no cars in between then you still need a carseat. If you are googling, try looking at youtube videos of what happens to a baby who is being held by their mother in the event of a car accident. Even with a bassinet seat he will still have to be on your lap for takeoff, landing and any turbulance/whenever the seatbelt light is on.

we are not renting a car there.and i have ben googling since morning about the car seats. i am concerned about the plane seat only as i don't want him to sit in my lap. unfortunately his seat could not be booked as flight was full. they have told us they will provide with bassinet but that's on a first come first serve basis. or if there is an empty seat then they will alott us.so i am confused as to take the car seat or not?

Technically the cabriofix should not be used on a the plane as it is not meant to be fastened lap belt only, in practice it depends on the airline I have used it before on some.(either way I am quite confident it is safer than sitting a 4 month old on your lap with a lapbelt over them but that is beside the point). It does fit in the overhead compartment in many planes. Unless you are renting a car with a carseat included then you don't really have a choice, you either take your carseat or you take your precious baby in a car unrestrained, which just isn't an option as far as I am concerned.
