Hi ladies!
It has been a while since I posted on here, hope you've all been doing well.

I wondered if anyone is practicing Hypnobirthing techniques? My friend used it and swears by the various techniques for helping to control and manage contractions and labour pain, which could be good! It would be good to know of your experiences. Also does anyone know where the Marie Mongan Hypnobirthing book and CD can be bought in Dubai?

This week my ob / gyn gave me a leaflet on stem cell collection, is anyone thinking about this? Or has anyone done it with other babies? Its amazing what can be done these days but I'm just not sure how I feel about it yet. Its a brand bew concept for us and im trying to process the pros and cons. Would be good to know your thoughts and experiences to aid the decision making process. Also any recommendations on companies you used for it.

Thanks xxx

Hi Swissroll, sorry, bit of a lurker, but just wanted to say that I did the delayed cord clamping and still managed to do stem cell collection. We used smart cells and the lady there had done it herself with her baby. delayed cord clamping is just the best thing for the baby but you can do both. Was really really pleased with their service. HTH!

My opinion (haven't done a proper research yet) is that the pros are more than the cons in stem cell collection. I'm planning to do this for my second baby (God's willing all goes well!). Since i missed the chance to do so for my first baby i just heard that something can be done with the cells or tissues of her milk teeth once they're fallen. As i said, haven't done a thorough research yet, but it's on the top of my to do list. All the best x

Hi star007:) I'm using hypnobirthing at the mo as my first attempt at pain relief-I'm due in April so don't know if it works! I'm using the one downloaded from iTunes from uk birthing assoc and also some 'colour relaxation' on baby centre site-seems good. Not sure where t buy mongan-sorry. Stem cell...personal opinion...I was quite keen, bein a scientist but just heard mixed messages. After baby is born, I've read that it's best to keep the cord attached til it stops pulsing for all nutrients/benefits to go to the baby, and then cut it. However if you want to save stem cells, you have to clamp and cut quickly otherwise the blood isn't there to take so only left with the cord. So is it better to give baby all it's entitled nutrients or stop it early to have it for use maybe later?!! I don't think there's a right or wrong-just a choice to be made. Luvlies Max
