Ahh thanks, my friend ;) So the Pearl is the next seat we need to get then. I think I'm going to keep DD in her Pebble for as long as possible. She has a fair way to go to get to 13kg, and so far she is not seeming to be too uncomfortable, or at least she's not complaining about it... yet :D So talking about the price... will check out this garage that sydneygal speaks of, but where is Goodbaby?

Shelly, our DS you know ;) is now in his Pearl car seat - forward facing. You can start them in the Pearl from 9kgs. However they can stay in the Pebble up until 13 kgs. We moved him a couple of weekends ago because he is so tall and was really pushing his legs against the backward facing Pebble. If I see you at a play-group this week you are more than welcome to try your DD in his seat and see what you think. We also moved him because he is sitting up really well. The Pearl you can recline which is a bonus in the family fix. However you cannot use the bugaboo attachments to put the carseat on your buggy. It doesn't have that capability and it would be far too heavy in anycase. So that might be a consideration for you as well. Let me know if you have any other questions. HTH

We did take it to Oz last time, but my mum had already hired a baby capsule from the ambulance. But it still came in handy as when we were out and about DD didn't want to lie in the bassinet of the pram as she's too much of a busy body, but she was too small for the seat at that stage.

hehe, well maybe it is dependant on weight then - wow already over 8kgs :) Cutiepie! Gosh no idea about Oz I have to say....actually sorry to digress but did you take your maxi cosi to Oz when you went and was that ok to use as I think the law there now is a 5 point harness?

Thanks babe, I'll have to check their website maybe. Or go into JK and ask the staff as they are usually very helpful in there. Then its different in Oz again... Mum mentioned the ambulance guy told her that Z will be forward facing when I take her home next as she's over 8kgs. I told my mum to double check again as she still seems to little/young to be forward facing.

shell - think the next size on from the Maxi Cosi Pebble is the Pearl which is forward facing...not sure on whether age or weight comes first...I know Jo has just put A forward facing in the last month or so as he was getting too big for the rear facing?

Sorry for the daft question, I feel I probably should already know this, but I don't. We have the Maxi Cosi Pebble car seat... at what age do we need to get a bigger seat? Is it age or weight that comes first with this decision? And the next seat in the Maxi Cosi range, is it a forward facing one? I'm so confused by it all. Thanks!

DC - Check out the Honda Garage on Sh Z road too - I'm sure they have the Pearl there. We bought the Pebble there and it was about 815 compared to 1200 in other places...x

Brill, thanks! Brown or black is fine as I was planning to get a summer cover anyway. I'll take a look now :).

Think it was house of baby. co. uk. Did a google searh for pearl prices and the cheapest was in the brown or the black as a new range of colours has just been brought out. Will dig out receipt and post. Boots also had them on special as did amazon but was a while ago.

Just bought the Pearl from the UK and paid 700aed, it retails for 1250aed over here. If you have the luggage allowance bring it with you. Our weighed 6.5kg's and checked it in with the luggage. Where did you get the Pearl from? DH checked online the other day and found it for GBP160!
