If your insurance isn't great I would sign up for Latifa or Dubai hospital which have the best government NICU in Dubai. That would still cost you anywhere form AED 3900 per night for critical care to AED 1900 per night for special care nursery the cost mentioned above are per child. City hospital has a great NICU I delivered my 26 week preemie there but it is extremely expensive. The minimum cost in City is AED 5000 per night and that does not include medication, test and any other expenses. The doctors at both City and Government hospital are fantastic and very well versed in premature neonatal care. Good luck with your pregnancy and I wish you go full term!

I had my twins at City Hospital, they came at 31+4 weeks and stayed in the nicu for 3 weeks. It worked out at 4500 a night each so you can imagine the costs were very high. I did have placenta previa so this is why I went early. I do know many ladies with twins that made it to the 36 weeks and brought them home straight away so don't assume you will have premies that need nicu care just because its twins. I can honestly say the level of care at CH was absolutely fantastic and couldn't say a bad word about them, my birth was a difficult one and could have gone very bad so am very grateful to them for everything they did. I had Dr Elsa who specializes in high risk births. Good luck with everything and congratulations with having twins on the way :) Mb xxx edited by Mummabear on 09/06/2013

Honestly, if I had a high risk pregnancy, I would do everything in my power to have my babies at home. Is that a viable option for you? (After my experiences with Dubai medical care, I wouldn't trust anything serious to doctors here unfortunately.)

Have a high risk pregnancy with twins, insurance doesn't cover a huge amount. Does anyone have any info or advice regarding premature labour/birth and the rough cost of it all. Also,if you had a high risk pregnancy what would you do in relation to choosing a hospital etc? Any help at the moment would be appreciated as I'm not sure of my options!
