Debsdebs, do you have lunch with her most days at 1762? Yes, that's me :) Lunch with DD is the highlight of my day! Say 'hi' next time you see us.

Debsdebs, do you have lunch with her most days at 1762? i work in DIFC as well, my eldest DS used to go to hummingbird and I did the same thing! it makes me smile when i see you with her, brings back memories and makes me miss mine!! (if it is indeed you!! and not to sound like a stalker!!!) yep good to take her to the doc, hopefully she will have a mild case like my DS2, and other than the spots she will be fine. she will have to stay home though. good luck, hope she's ok. edited by JulesLC on 02/04/2012

Yes, it sounds like Hand, Foot & Mouth disease. My LO had this before Xmas. It is very contagious, so no kissing LO until it clears up. DH caught it from our LO and he had really bad blisters in his mouth. We went to a pediatrician at City Hospital and in that week alone he had seen 20 cases. They prescribed drops to bring down the fever and antihistamine lotion for the blisters. There is not a lot they can do for it. It can easily re-occur as well as the virus lives in the stools for some time after it clears up. My LO came out in the blisters again about 6 weeks after the first infection, but it was nowhere near as bad as the first time. edited by Niggly on 02/04/2012

Hi Jules, I just did some internet research and it seems that she may well have hand, foot and mouth. I called the nursery to alert them as I'm very concerned about the younger babies. I'm going to collect her now and take her to the ped. She's at Hummingbird, DIFC.

sounds like hand foot and mouth. DS2 had it a few weeks ago. wasnt overly bothered by it ie carried on as normal, but he was off nursery as it is highly contagious, and some children suffer badly with it. he did not go back until the blisters cleared.does she have any on her hands? can you see in her mouth? i would take her to the doc to be sure. which nursery is she at? mine is at blossom village, they needed a medical report in order for them to officially communicate it to other parents. HTH

Yesterday I noticed that DD (17 months) had some small red spots on her feet. I've just been to have lunch with her at nursery and noticed that she may even have some more and some of them are almost blister like. I spoke to the nurse who didn't seem too concerned but I am. Anyone have any idea what this could be? This morning DD was running a very slight fever (37.5) which I thought fine to send her to nursery with, however, I wasn't linking the spots on her feet and low grade fever at the time. Any advice would be most appreciated. TIA
