Hello Ladies,

Can someone please recommend a daily sunscreen creame with an SPF 15 or so, just for normal usage for my 18 months DD. All I can find are heave duty sunscreens with SPF 50 and above at the pharmacies/supermarkets.

Any advice appreciated.

TIA

I would use the QV Face cream as a daily sunscreen. It's nice and moisturising and scent free. I use it everyday. It is an spf 30plus (the maximum as it's australian) but not gluggy or sticky like regular sunscreen.

Thankyou Ladies. I agree SPF 50 is minimal if the little one is out swimming. However what Im looking for is for basic SPF protection while DD is out for sometime - on her way to the supermarket, in and out of the car etc etc. Any help there? TIA

Agree - SPF50 is a must for little ones. We use Mustella brand and it's fine. Surf stores (Roxy, Billabong etc) sell swim suits and cover ups which are certified in Australia for UV protection too. The ones you get in Mothercare etc are just normal fabric and do not block UV rays.

SPF15 is nothing, so it's better that you use SPF50 as the sun exposure is not good at all.

As far as I know it is better to avoid sun exposure before 2 y.o. So, better to use hat, long sleeves and so on to cover up your baby. For what is remaining exposed it is recommended to apply very high UVA/UVB sun protection. That's why you don't find any sun cream with SPF below 50 for kids....
