Any pointers? He just seemed terrified by the space after being cocooned in a Moses basket but he's just too big for it now

Thanks ladies - he's currently got his baket in his cot. Now that I finally got him self settle and sleep well - will need to start this whole new other roller coaster ! :)

I put one of her folded blankets under her sheet to create a smaller raised area. Then I put a heavy-ish bolster (long cushion) on each side. She was 3 months and had reflux so I found this helped her and created a cosy space within (got the idea from a reflux positioner to prevent babies from sliding down when you raise the head of the bed). She didn't turn or move at that stage so I found it similar to a bumper. Some people aren't comfortable about having anything in bed with baby tho.

Both my daughters were absolutely fine going from moses basket to cot and were not bothered about the change. However my son didn't like his cot at all! He was a chubby baby and way to big to sleep in his moses basket but no matter what we did he couldn't sleep through the night in his cot. We ended up putting his basket in his cot for quite a few weeks. After a few weeks we removed the basket and he was happy sleeping in his cot. So maybe leave his basket in his cot for now and try again in a couple of weeks.

keep everything else the same, keep the room dark and continue to swaddle if you were swaddling before, it shouldn't take long to get used to it though, probably is more weird for you than for him. if it also means moving to a completely different room you could try putting the basket in the cot for a few nights.
