About Operation Smile
Operation Smile is a global surgical non-profit that improves the health and dignity of patients living with cleft lip and cleft palate in low- and middle-income countries.
Since 1982, Operation Smile has been committed to providing patients with health that lasts through life-saving cleft surgeries and comprehensive care, helping them to better breathe, eat, speak and live lives of greater quality and confidence.
Our medical training and education programs elevate safe surgical standards and strengthen a global network to reach more people earlier in their lives.
The Operation Smile UAE foundation was established in 2011 under the patronage of H.H. Sheikha Aljazia Bint Saif Al Nahyan, wife of H.H. Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. It is a registered charity with the Ministry of Community Development.
Operation Smile UAE has funded more than 16 international surgical programs in countries such as Morocco, Egypt, Jordan, Philippines, Malawi, China and India as well as recruited more than 70 medical volunteers from within the UAE to participate on international surgical programs around the world.
