Just use bicarbonate of soda instead, only reduce the amount. Half a teaspoon should be enough for a cake. P.s. I never use baking powder and all my produce goes down a treat. edited by Marina on 16/01/2011

Hope you found your baking powder. I have heard there is someone making gluten free cakes and cupcakes for parties? Kakes at 050-328-6253. Have you tried them?

You can find gluten free baking powder at the organic foods and cafe as well. I bought some couple of months back.

Thanks so much georgiagirl, I will pop to Almaya. Thank goodness I didn't go ahead and just use the baking powder without checking.

Most baking powder is not gluten free. You can buy specific gluten free baking powder. They actually have it at the Almaya Market in the Marina right now. Can't promise it'll be there next month, so get it while it's hot!

Thanks for replying Mrs Laughan Ingredients are: phosphate E450a, cornflour, sodium bicarbonate E500 I've looked on the internet, but can't find anything that clearly states it's gluten free and the tin has no information.
