Help an orphanage in Cambodia
Kasey Smith and her husband are currently handling a personal project for a
humanitarian cause to donate goods such as clothes, shoes, towels, etc. to an
orphanage in Cambodia.
The couple has a personal affiliation with the orphanage and Cambodia as they
adopted a little girl from this orphanage http://www.kaiskids.org and they have
started to give back as it is a Non-Governmental Organization and really rely on
volunteers.
Unfortunately adoptions in Cambodia have also been put on hold for another year
which means no children will find families. They have many babies and children
from new born premature babies up to teenagers and they try and do what they
can.
Obviously Kais Kids are only one of the many orphanages in Cambodia. Kasey and
her husband have been working with them for about 2 1/2 years through adopting
their girl, hence supporting them.
For help and donations please contact Darren and Kasey Smith 050 724 1413
If you are near to Arabian Ranches there are recycling bins at the Burger King end of the retail centre which accept clothes. Probably for profit but if I can't give them away that's where they end up. I'd rather do that than throw them in the dustbin.
You can just as easily donate to your housemaid or a cleaning lady in the building, building security, someone at the salon where you go, something like that. It's not hard to find people in need in the UAE.
you can drop off clothes at most of Emarat petrol stations - they have collection boxes
These are NOT charity collection boxes - please don't put in these - according to Volunteer In Dubai founder Lola Lopez they are there for profit and don't go to any charity
Have a look at Volunteer In Dubai on facebook - they recently put on details about clothes donation to The Aid In Motion project:

some areas have a 'skip' where you just drop yout bag in and let go... Uptown Mirdif school has one... beit El kheir does and some other charities will give you a phone number to call them and they will pick up directly from your home... check at the charity desks around your area for the contact details....
